@@StarpunkPrime looks like a new silkbind move that gives access to a counter while in axe mode, but the counter does not need to be triggered to be able to go into elemtal 2 immediately after, so you can use elemental 2 -> axe silkbind counter -> elemental 2 -> repeat until no more wirebugs. The downside is it consumes 1 wirebug each time and you don't recover phials as quickly as you would with the standard x-a-x-a combo, but for builds that don't rely on phial damage but on crits it looks really strong.

spoiler free answer: chain crit was on the Kushala weapon as a ramp-up in high rank. it is now in the system that follows up on the ramp-up mechanic, which is not bound to weapons as strictly

I'm still learning charge blade. Are you using your red style just for the block that fills your phials to charge, and then switching to blue to use the ready stance block? For silkbinds at least they're using two of the new ones. New L2+ Triangle was the one that looked like an uppercut and when you see the Circle spam he weaves the new L2+Circle as a reset so he doesn't have to use a standard attack to get back to the Circle attack

Morph slash/ charging up your sword, you can’t transition to css through regular guard point it can only be done through counter peak or manual charging which was made better in sunbreak

as a novice charge blade user id like to know how to charge the shield and the skinny part

To make the shield icon turn purple (putting it into an amped state) you need to have phials ready, and then cancel your big slam (which you can get to easily with X+A at the same time) with R2. Once the shield is amped, you can hit R2 and A, and then keep holding A until the end of the shield retracts to do a condensed element slash and charge your sword, letting you do phial damage with sword strikes. If you have condensed spinning slash, or whatever it’s called, you don’t need to charge the shield. You simply hit R2 and hold A, and when the shield starts spinning, let go. Once you’re in that state, you have to hold down the attack button to make your swings do several hits in one attack.
