If you guys are wondering why the player was frequently aiming for CG Val's front toes, it's because they're the only easily-reachable hit zones that don't gain immunity to elemental damage when the mutated jet dragon becomes enraged. And that's because there's no Dragon energy venting from them ever - Dragon energy dissipates elemental energy on contact.

this is like the definition of you making it look easy lol. i tried CB after beating it with SA twice, but i keep whiffing my AED phials on its low elemental hitzones when aiming for its forelegs i also noticed you didn't really use SAED during its enraged/risen phases, and i think i might know why, the low elem hitzones sort of just eat up the phials very often even if the explosions physically wete closer to its forelegs

Hi there! So Rakna CB, Narwa CB and Auroracanth CB. All of them need the rampage deco slot augment to make use of the elembane jewel which is core in this Matchup. The fish CB does not need that, so you can go all out in the element augments. So comparing the others VS the fish, the fish will have more element. You can also use the Dear Lutemineva+ (rathian CB), but I'm almost sure that it has a bit less element than the fish as well

@@JabTonB Decided to check the numbers just to give a better answer Armordraad + All element augs = 110 water Dear Lutermina+ All element augs = 107 Fire Crawling Crusher CB + Elements augs lvl 6 + Rampage slot upgrade = 104 Fire Flicker Blizzard Wail + Elements augs lvl 6 + Rampage slot upgrade = 109 Ice Asylum Peal + Elements augs lvl 6 + Rampage slot upgrade = 113 Thunder, but you lose slots and there's no way to augment the damage, unless you find a way to fit in stormsoul with the other skills

Great hunt! I am confused about one thing though. @30sec exactly what did you guard impact?!? It looked like your pet but in my 1800+ hours on this game, I did not know you could Guard Impact off your pets attack.

Thanks I wasn't really the pet attack, but now that you mentioned it looked like it, but it was actually the wind pressure from Valstrax Charging his chest. At 3:59 you can see me take this wind pressure on the face lol

You mean AED with the Shield Charged? If you're playing on controller, you pull your left analog stick backward while performing SAED. If you're playing kb&m, you can hold the "s" button while performing SAED and it will make the character perform an AED instead

I'm using two palamutes equipped with the skills: Counter, Critical Up (S), Melee-Centric, Artful Dodger and Element attack Up. They're also equipped with a blast weapon for Valstrax matchup (Seething Bazel)

I've seen multiple risen valstraax speedrun and I still don't get why it takes so much damage on its foreleg despite it being a "bad" hit zone? :o

That's the thing it is actually the only hitzone that is not bad when it is enraged, so it keeps taking a lot of elemental damage on it

Hi there! The only visual mods I'm using on this run are for the UI (to make it smaller) and the Slow-mo at death. Nothing else The game is running on Max/ultra settings with motion blur active and that's it Hope this helps!

You mean the blue bar by the phials? That's the Frostcraft bar. Frostcraft it's a skill present in the Velkhana armor, but it can also be acquired via augment or melding. It basicaly boosts my damage. If you want to check the specifics you can check the kiranico database for how it works :D

Hi there You can get a full set of phials from yellow charge by using the Load Shells skill, 2 points of it. Magaine Jewel 4+

Any reason you used ED instead of SAED when it was risen other than less end lag?

All other hitzones elemental value drop to 0 once he enrages and have the chest charged. This is also true for the risen version, so to keep constant damage you have to snipe his foreleg with AED. If i tried to SAED I'd probably cause no damage

271+ for Risen Val and Shaggy 251+ for the others risen If I'm correct those are the anomally levels. You can check by verifying if they get those "burst" or "risen explosion effect" on their design when you're about to select them
