Turns out you can hit with the shield for stun damage if you aim for the head Why we got that on reverse blast and not also blast dash makes me almost as frustrated as a Rajang, but we shoot the shells we're dealt

Hunt it a lot with GL and watch videos of speedruns of it, taking notes of the attack patterns of the monster and the hunter. That's what I did and how I learn. : )

The paralysis was one thing, but there was also a part break that happened at the exact same time. A part break while the monster is stand causes them to stagger as well, the paralysis was an added bonus xP

I'm wondering since element has such a large buff, would you have gotten a faster run with the newer Flaming Espinas gunlance after modding it and adding lvl 3 cameleous essence for poison uptime since it has a hidden mechanic to poison a monster by chance off melee hit? I tried it out recently because I suck with normal shelling and turned all 3 Magalas into beginner monsters. Literally 2 mins on a run where I got hit a least a dozen times, this game rules!!

I've been interested in the Flaming Espinas Gunlance for runs so I might give this a go. Especially if you used it in conjunction with Build up Boost, it could be good for monsters with high fire hitzone values. However, Gunlance does suffer from having low elemental motionvalues on many of its attacks and so it is often better to prioritize raw if you're trying to get the most out of your melee attacks.

All those mods do is remove a lot of the randomness from the hunt. This exact run is still possible without mods and would require the exact same skill, it would just also require luck. I don't think most people here to watch speedruns are here because we want to see lucky runs over skilled ones.

@@valcristPL I can understand the salt when most build guides use “god talismans” with atk boost 3, 2 Wex and 2 2 slots JUST because they’re on of and can mod it in and circumvent the rng

@@AndersonWave17 But they are not using something that is unachievable. The chances are very low, but it's in the game. Blame the developer for doing it like this, not the people. Also currently 99% of build makers include versions that have the optimal talisman, and a much more accessible substitute.
