What're your thoughts on the Gold Rathian SnS? It definitely won't beat the Wroggi SnS but it looks like a much more comfier version with more white sharpness and affinity, it could probably open up more slots to add in some comfort skills 🤔

@@Muyshtic I pretty much have the exact same thoughts on it, as you do here 😄It's not going to outperform the other meta " Raw" Damage options we have now, but it's still a very good & comfy Weapon option to fall back on. The Gold Rathian Sns has been one of the most constantly good Weapons, across the entire MH franchise for over 10 years now ^_^

​@@YokaiNoxit's always so nice to see a recurring all rounder good weapon that's been around through out the series 🥰 Speaking of which because of the comfiness of the Gold Rathian SnS, and the amount of skills that synergizes with each other I've been thinking about how a build, built around maintaining the upkeep of these skills would be nice, like Foray + Status Trigger + Frenzy/Normal Bloodlust + Adrenaline Rush + Build Up boost would be like, especially since not having to commit much into Crit Eye. Just a random idea that came to mind haha, sorta reminds me of classes in MMOs where you have to keep yourself buffed up by fulfilling various conditions

Seeing some of the oldschool weapons hold up so well even years later, always feels like home ^_^ I was actually messing around with a very similar Skill setup for Status Sns in general, while running some tests 😄Interestingly the one "issue" that showed itself very early on, is that Status Trigger & Evasion based Skills have lost alooot of value on Sns. It's a result of how well & often we can utilize Switch Skills now. Mathematically there is no scenario were evading an attack to activate Status Trigger & Adrenalin Rush, can outperform going for a Metsu Shoryugeki with Offensive Guard Lv 3. I personally love using Evasion Skills on Sns, whenever i want to go for an extra comfy playstyle ^_^ Now with the inclusion of Wind Mantle & Frenzied Bloodlust i hardly ever feel the need to dodge/evade with Sns though :D Since I have the required Wirebugs to use one of the Counter Switch Skills 95% of the time. And then there's also the new Guard Slash, wich counters an attack and lets you go straight into a perfect rush for extra damage. The other thing is that Status Trigger & Build Up Boost only applies to Hits with the Sword (Since the Shield cannot do Status or Element damage). Wich automatically excludes the Sns most powerfull moves for Raw Damage. It's almost as if they knew it would be too good on Sns otherwise😄

And yeah after trying it out I feel I rarely have to evade with SnS now even if I'm out of wirebugs I still have Guard Slash to fall back on, only time I ever roll is to reposition myself, they really made it more of a "bonus" you get for the SnS rather than something you can incorporate as your main playstyle 😆 I wonder if that kinda status build could work well on some weapons that utilize evading more often, say like Switch Axe or maybe HH 🤔

There's a note in the Video adressing exactly that 😄You can drop a [Attack+ 4] Deco, to add a [Handicraft+ 4] Deco. That will give you 20 Hits of purple, wich lasts quite a good while with Master's Touch. So the Water Sns is definitely worth it aswell👍🏽 Glad you enjoyed the Video! ^_^

@@Azarios Yup, elemental Builds for Sns are very case specific. They're only gonna come out ontop if the elemental Hitzones are high enough (atleast 25) and consistantly hittable. And even then Raw will win in some cases due to the Raw Hitzones just being that good/convinient.

Glad you enjoyed it! ^_^ It sort of depends on 2 things. 1 - Your preferd playstyle/ Switch Skills. (Since there are certain Switch Skills that simply work better for Element than for Raw) 2 - The Monsters elemental Weakness. Usualy when fighting something that has a elemental Hitzone of 30+ that you can hit consistantly, it will be worth going elemental with Sns.

A great question! It's very situational! Charging it can offer a decent DMG boost, but in most cases we're better off imideatly going for the perfect rush insted. It will depend on the opening you have at the moment. From personal expirience: I've never realy regretted going for it imideatly - But i have regreted charging it and not being able to follow through completely, due to how the situation developed.

@@snoozing7725 No worries, all questions are welcome here at any time! 👍🏽I actually use Guard Slash in the Background Footage of this Video a few times 😄It's a nice addition to the S&S moveset, but it's also very situation & playstyle dependent. Right now it very much feels like you have to know/plan for the situations you're going to use it in, for the hunt ahead. Using it spontanuosly or on reflex can easily backfire, if the smallest thing goes wrong. But if you know exactly how you're going to use it against the Monster you're fighting, it's a great tool to create extra damage openings! In short: It's a good tool that will have exponentionaly increased value, as the users expirience with the Weapon & familiarity with Monster movesets increases.

Yup, I often end up crafting mutiple copies of the same Armor Pieces. It's alot better than re-augmenting something that already has a good augment on it.

It entirely depends on wich Skills you are going for & if the particular pece of Armor you are augmenting has any Skills that you dont need. Since Skill+ Augmenting sacrifices 1 or more random Skill Points on an Armor Piece, to increase the chances at getting higher Tier Skills. Skill+ will also Element Resistance & also Defense sometimes (It's nothing to realy worry about, unless you are using something like Dragon Conversion, wich benefits from high E-Resistance.)

Hello! nice guide. Question, as a new player If I do a lot of multiplayer w' friends should I continue to run Embolden & slot in Diversion? If so what would I replace?

That's always a bit tricky to answer. In mutiplayer you will get more overall use out of the normal Guard Skill over Embolden. But it's still very usefull. If you like to keep high Level of Guard withou using Embolden, the most efficient way is using a Guard Lv 5 Talisman with similar Slotage to the Crit Eye Talisman showed in the Video. Luckily Guard Lv 5 Talismans are not hard to get at all when you have the endgame melding syytems unlocked! ^_^ Untill then, a Guard Lv 3 Talisman with decent Slotage can work as a subistute aswell. Wich Skill to drop if you'd like to add Diversion, will depend on wich one of the Builds you want to use.

​@nawid8122 I'm very familiar with HBG, the best guy to look to for HBG content is Phemeto, dude runs damage numbers very heavily, and I tend to use his guides as a baseline, then remove and add skills I'm more comfortable with. Elemental HBG is very expensive charm wise, look into Furious, dragon conversion, dereliction builds. Ammo consumption is too high not to need extra rounds but the ammo is so insanely overtuned there is no reason not to go with health draining skills, high skill cap and very risky playstyle. Going with comfort skills is generally not done in this playstyle

Poison is still good, that's why i mention it on the 2nd Build and show the Lucent Narga Sns as alternative weapon option. The thing that changed, is that a dedicated Build for Poison is no longer as good as it was prior to Endgame. And the Weapon options for it have fallen behind aswell. So now we simply get more overall Damage by taking a different approach.

There is, but the actual "issue" is, that mathematically Blood Awakening just isnt worth it for Sns. We get alot more bang for our buck by using other Skills insted, like showcased in the Video. Bloodrite can ofc still be addet into any Sns Build if you like!

All you need is the Slot upgrade! I say in the Video that you dont need to Augment any Skills onto the R.Kushala Helmet 😄 The extra Level of Wind Mantle I got on there is a cool bonus, but literally the least important thing in the Builds.

@@carlosha98No worries, when that Augment dropped on the R.Kush Helmet, I double & tripple checked to make sure i'm actually seeing correctly xD Cause I thought something definitely got removed. But turns out that Wind Mantle & Powder Mantle are actually classified as only "mid" Tier Augments. And therefore can drop with a varity of extras without loosing anything from the Armor Piece. Kinda wild imo 😄 Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate! ^_^

It's a nice bonus, but absolutely not necesarry! It's a minor bonus, since Wind Mantle's sweet spot is aready at Lv 1. Anything more than that is just icing on the cake^^

I did do that in a few videos, but since the vast majority of people prefered this format of showcasing the Builds, i stuck with it. If you start with the largest Decoration & work you're way down in size, everything falls into place automatically by default.

Yup, that's why i mentioned the Motion Values for Element on S&S being suprisingly low in Sunbreak. That's the reason why Element doesnt pull ahead in this case. It's pretty much equal to Blast, unless you're fighting something with particularly high Element Hitzones & bad Raw Hitzones.

Due to the motion values on Sns and the way Element isnt applied on shield attacks at all, Blood Awakening just isnt realy worth it on Sns. Going with more conventional Skills has a better result for overall DPS.

@@f3fnir You actually dont need max critical Eye. As mentioned in the video, Bloodlust will set you at 100% even if you drop down to Crit Eye Lv 6. Crit Eye Lv 7 is a luxury, but not required at all. But a different Talisman works aswell ofc 👍🏽

I'm a bit confused 😄Pretty sure you might have missed something there :D Cause i dont mention using a single Master's Touch 4 Deco anywhere in the Video to get full Master's Touch. Asuming you're talking about the first Build - I said you can get full Master's Touch insted of Embolden. Both Skills require [1x Lv 4] & [1x Lv 2] Deco to reach their max Level . So you can perfectly switch them out if you like.

As I pointed out in the Video, all you need is a Critical Eye Lv 3 Talisman with either 2x or 3x Lv 2 Slots. Wich is not hard to get at all with Cyclus Melding, if you have that unlocked! (And again 2x Lv 2 Slots are enough alreaady) Ans the Slugger ony my Talisman is nothing but a convinient bonus in this case. It's completely unnecesarry. It honestly wich it were something else, because it's literally wasted on most other weapons lol. I'm suprised that you're having such a tough time with a Crity Eye 3 [2-2-2] or [2-2-0] Talisman. This hasnt been an issue for anybody else so far. Kinda strange 🤔Are you sure you're using the correct melding method ?

r/monsterhuntermeta has a pretty good guide on SNS if anyone wants to know more about the weapon like dmg calcs, dmg loops and so on. Also the dirty graf out-performs any other raw weapon due to most monsters being far weaker to poison than blast so blast is mostly left for stuff like R. Valstrax or any monster weaker to blast rather than poison.

Thank you 😂I kept trying to remember wich other poison SNS i meant to put in the 2nd Weapon Option, but the buisness week fried my brain lol The actual difference in overall DPS between the Graf, ScoMa, Lucent & Tigrex SNS across an AR 250+ Hunt is minimal now. Even with the Graf's outsanding poison. Depending on the target you're hunting the ScoMa SNS is also prefered by quite a few Hunters now. Since Blast can contribute to breaking the affliction threshold, aswell as having the additional stopping force for staggers (wich Poison both cant contribute to). I personally enjoy using both though 👌🏽

@@YokaiNox Your Build 1 was dealing so much more damage over Build 2, my eyes opened so wide! Is it because of the Tigrex SnS and/or the bonus attack skills like coalescence and bloodlust?

​@@SSRAFF7 Yup, it's a combination of mutiple DMG factors that leads to that particular Builds high Raw output. But mainly it's due to the Tigrex Sns high initial Raw Attack.

@@YokaiNox Would you say its consistent? I miss Perfect Rush doing actual damage like in MHW...

@@SSRAFF7 Due to it not relying on Buildup Boost triggering a 10% increase (to Sword Attacks only) like other Builds using Blast or Poison, I'd say Yes. It is very consistent.👍🏽 Perfect Rush is still very high in damage, when incooperated in your combos correctly.
