This nearly tied the fastest of all freestyle melee weapon runs against Teostra (1 second difference at time of posting). HH for Teo is vying for 1st place melee... how far HH has come in the MH series.

Well there isn't much else to put in a lvl1 slot for this fight. I already have speed sharpening, horn maestro and diversion. It's not for a specific reason

@@Mr.Rellim Well, there is a purpose. So long as an attack doesn't send you flying, it will reduce the knockback. This is useful when dealing with small monsters. For example if you have flinch free 3 and sharpen your weapon, a bite from a wroggi will not cancel the animation (a hipcheck will tho)

Not much to put in level one slots. Diversion takes some of the aggro away from the dogs which is nice for staying aggressive

The soundwaves/shockwaves that HH make don't/can't crit. If you find yourself using the the performance mode perform attack followed by A attack its worth dropping some crit boost for other things.

when using the palamutes, what do you have their behavior set as? same with palamute gear? I assume blitz scroll and guarding parasol. or if anyone else can help me figure it out I would appreciate it.

Set it to follow. You got the tools right. The reason why umbrella is strong especially with HH is because they spin it on crush/trio/silkbind attacks. As for gear, give it a weapon with the elemental weakness of the monster. Ice for teostra since the water palamute weapon is relatively weak. You can also use status weapon, sleep is a strong status. For skills, some good skills are status up if using a status weapon, attack up (L), artful dodger, and against blast and hellfire monsters; use deflagration relief, since the dog AI will panic if blighted.

@@glasssoup7549 thanks for the info. my current palamute set up is blitz/umbrella with follow. both my mutes also have knockout king attack L and crit L. never realized the dogs had a moveset to react to the smash/silkbind.

I mean, since you can just craft WEX now for 2 slots, it's ok, basically a 3 2 slot and 2 1 slot charm, which ain't bad, I really feel great on my 2 wirebug 2 flinch free and 2 2 slot charm though, it's just pog for this set (Replacing the kamura chest for vaik of course and just slotting in the wex

It's not really overpowered. Lots of other runners have charms stronger than this by a crazy amount. The charm's power for speedruns is measured by the number of 2-slot skills + lv2slots. Since 1 slot, you can always take out speedsharperning and use whetfishes. Deus's charm is 3 "points", with 2 wex + 1 lv2 slot. These charms are relatively common and you can get them with enough playtime. There are runners with wirebug 3 + 2 lv2 slots. These 5 "points" charms are extremely rare and it's normal for players not to see them after playing for many hundreds of hours. search "ぞうん" or "seemo" for runners with such charms.

The one point in crit boost is basically only there because kaiser crown is such a strong headpiece. You could go Flame seal for 4 crit, but you miss out on a single decoration and that one extra crit won't make as much difference as the 5% damage from crit boost. But there's no reason to slot crit boost any higher because this is a low affinity build.

He explained it in comments on another vid, but mostly because it performs reeaaalllyy damn well with wirebug whisperer 3 which means more earthshakers and the such which are high damage, since you don't need to build for handicraft you can fit in wirebug 3 quite easily wheras rampage has to give up a lot for it and ends up performing worse than tigrex

Justin already explained. But I'd like to add that tigrex is not strictly better. They're sidegrades. Wirebug whisperer 3 is not always the best option, it depends on the monster.

@@alexYJZ Tigrex easily has rampage beat on the comfy scale due to having the build space for wirebug 3 (which is just really fun anyhow) and you can easily fit an extra level 2 skill in there too depending on charms, so I and Deus too threw on evade extender, which is just sooo comfy to have, rampage horn really can't afford things like that, plus Tigrex horn looks neat and rampage looks like rampage, so, sidegrades where Tigrex wins out on comfiness and WW3 and fashion

Not sure what you mean but if you are referring to Monster Hunter World(MHW) then yes. The graphics is obviously down toned to make the performance on the switch as great as it is now. Still, if you lol at any other Monster Hunter game before MHW you will quickly acknowledge that it’s a huge improvement for a handheld console. Gameplay makes you forget about the graphics really fast as well :)
