【MHRise】Goss Harag ゴシャハギ Shrapnel LBG + Bomber Cats ¤

I've had this idea to try for awhile but never got around to it but it seems to work out pretty well on this quest and a few others. Shrapnel isn't the best ammo generally unless rampage but I think if using Bomber cats and monster has a decent enough hitzone you can actually make this meme ammo do well in most quests. Had fun messing around with this cheesy combo.

Perhaps not the best in terms of damage but I love shrapnel. Especially on enemies like Goss and Anjanath, who get severely hard-countered as all the shots just..... LASER focus weakzones. Which is particularly strong against these two and a few others due to their flinch mechanics. You can shoot the enemy's armored backsides and shrapnel will still travel to the weakzones just to optimize damage, it's great. Its wide spread basically just means that you don't even have to aim correctly to land your shots, so you can keep a safe distance while rapid firing almost 24/7 and do consistent (keyword here) damage throughout the entire fight. It doesn't do good damage against most monsters but when it works it works like frickin' clockwork.

i think goss works so well because he’s such a wide target. was literally my first choice outside of the rampage for shrapnel. also if you’re fighting izuchi with a spread build, if your gun has shrapnel it can be useful to speed up the clearing of the little izuches. not like izuchi is hard or anything, just fyi.

@@mailbg9704 Hell yeah, Damascus is awesome. On another note, Mai, have you seen straight white pigment on Damascus? It looks really good with ingot set waist. Hard to move away from Shell-studded hat or the dlc Anbu mask.

Mai, capping? What is this travesty? But jokes aside, nice run besides the dumb Remombra at the start! I do have to say though, Crapcom should really just let you start the quests in the subcamps instead of only the main ones, in like half the quests you have to fasttravel with things like they are now and that's kinda dumb.

@@lsr444 It makes literally no sense though, World let you start from any camp you wanted. It's just annoying when nearly 70% of the quests in the entire game require you to fast travel at the start of the hunt because the monsters have spawned at the other side of the map! It might not seem much, but when you are resetting for TAs and whatnot, those ~5 seconds of fast travel each time add up and even when playing normally it's still annoying.

@@kinryuten Those were called "drunk birds" and were an imitation of older games starting you randomly in the map (pre-World it was like 1% secret area, 40% camp, 25% same as quest target and 34% somewhere in the map), but that's completely irrelevant to what I said. Drunk birds were barely 25% of the time and in Iceborne they'd drop you right at the quest target half the time anyways. My point was, why put camps in the map but not let us start there? If they just wanted fasttravel, they could have added a special giant wirebug to take you all across to the other side of the map instantly, same thing as having camps you can't start in.
