Rathalos in prior games could be a joke, whereas Rathalos in World could a chore sometimes without the Flash Pods (my first experience with World's Rathalos ain't that great), but Rise completely eliminates these two negative points, resulting in a perfectly solid monster. It's never been a better time to be a Rathalos fan.

He's definitely more solid. Now has a good balance of ground and air attacks and doesn't just fly 99% of the time but also with wirebugs, they make his fight all that much doable without the flash spam or waiting for him to land.

Do the Performance attacks/motions have I frames now? Seem to be a lot of times where you perform attack through a monster's attack. Very exciting stuff as a horn main!

It's ZR move specifically has Iframes if you are playing the Performance version. Echo version does not however.

As a long time HH main, the Rise HH feels REALLY flimsy compared to the previous iterations. It’s kinda gross. Hell, even with the crazy spinny moves it’s somehow LESS stylish too. Casually taking a diving Rathalos out of the air from over my shoulder with a backslam felt so… meaty. The hunting horn no longer has that deliberate bone shattering feeling. Due to the long swing and recovery you had to be VERY precise with your swings. Now it’s just an insect glaive that doesn’t suck.

sorry to ask this silly question, but is Rise easier that World?? I mean, im a regular player, I played Generation U first (I played about 300+ hrs) and playing World was like, "is this for real???"

So far I'd say so but I haven't gotten into high rank yet so I'm not 100%. I've played through most of village and have the quest to fight Almudron and I haven't carted once yet. In low rank for World I know I at least carted to Anjanath and Diablos. I feel like the wire fall makes being able to heal way too easy as it gets you away from the monster plus sheaths your weapon so you can heal right away whereas even in World if you stood up at the wrong time you could die to a follow up attack plus your weapon was still unsheathed so you had to wait through the sheathing animation which if you did it at the wrong time could also lead to carting. Wyvern riding is also op as non target monsters can be ridden with just one silk bind move and they let you take out a big chunk of the target monster's hp before knocking them down and giving you an opening for even more damage. Plus it's not hard to wyvern ride two monsters per quest. Also all of the weapons are generally much easier to use. I main LS and they made Iai spirit slash way more noob friendly by giving it more s and removing the penalty for timing it wrong. I'm still having loads of fun don't get me wrong but I beat Magnamalo in around 6-7 minutes whereas in World such fights took me like 10-20 minutes.

Same damage on both modes' recitals. Echo just doesn't have the attack/roar countering ability and Narga's HH doesn't have any of the songs that are good with Echo Mode anyway

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but the game hasn't been out for long and there are already insanely fast speed runs... Is this from overtuned weapons? Underpowered monsters? I'm only just at the beginning of Rise so I'm wondering how endgame is going to look..

TDS has been practicing on the demo hunts for a while now. HH may be overturned despite some crazy people being upset by the damage decreases of certain moves compared to World. There is only High rank right now, so monsters aren't at their max potential, but with 60 monsters there is a lot to do. Plus the Chameleos update is coming pretty soon. I have heard that endgame feels a little weak right now, but that is normal for a base MH game. When we get G/Master rank things should be much tougher.

These runs are incredible but still not as optimized as they could be. Also speedruns never tend to take long to pop up with MH, on top of the fact Deus has had the game in early access for a substantial amount of time, to grind his endgame sets and start running. 4 minutes for a run is actually pretty reasonable and comparable to the times seen shortly after ib released, so no I wouldn't call weapons overtuned or monsters undertuned, and this is about in the expected time frame for first week runs.
