The stabs contribute to tenderizing. Since IG is a weak tenderize alone, along with the 3 stabs, you successfully tenderize.

@@SatsumaFSoysoy Being forced to target specific body parts instead of just hitting whatever, that kind of thing is what makes Monster Hunter combat so good imo. Having to target the tail to cancel his rampage mode is an interesting mechanic too. Problem is that the tail isnt a particularly great hitzone either tho. Also you can tenderize the arms to turn them into a weakspot temporarily. Problem with light weapons though is that you need to do the claw attack twice to tenderize a body part and he rarely staggers to let you do the claw attack in the first place and if you try to cling to him mid combat instead he'll grab and punch you instead. The alternative would be to do 3 claw punches to tenderize with one claw attack but that enrages him and puts him one step closer to rampage mode which then forces you to target the tail because the tenderized arms are no longer a weakspot. The arms also can be broken now and doing that will knock him down for a while which gives you a large opening to do a lot of damage but then there's also the issue that if he bounces against a wall during said knockdown animation, he'll latch onto the wall and counterattack, robbing you of one of the few big openings you can have in this fight. You can probably already tell from reading this that for every good thing about this fight there's also some annoying mechanic that can make this fight really irritating.

@@charlescirio That Attack is new since Iceborn, use R2 in the Air to do it. Its your best Damage in the Air, but it does no, ore very very little Mountingdamage. Its pretty cool and can be chained to two of the other Aerial attacks. I use it all the Time.

70 means you only need 30 from WEx, so you don't have to wound the parts to achieve 100% crit rate. Also, his head is the best place to hit him, and there's no wounding it. When you do decide to wound a part, it's hard to maintain and focus on it because Rajang doesn't have many openings, and a wounded arm annoyingly gets armored when he goes into Super Saiyan mode.

Right after Tempered Rajang beaten my Ass. Any advice how to stand, to bait out the Beam? Ore any other Move whit slow recovery? Its unusual to see you jumping around so much whit Ig.

Generally a good place to stand is in between his head and his face but you still have to be careful because of his punches. You can tell when his beam will start because it has a pretty decent start up lag and also some end lag to it so you should have enough time to evade it if you are close to his arms and head. When he is enraged just straight up go for the tail but be careful of his back step. I’d probably stand parallel to his tail instead of directly behind it.

learn his patterns, and how to punish his moves, if u can, and that depend on the weapon u choose, because different weapon have different method to punish him. there is at least 3 attack with mid/long animation, that u must use to poke damage or flinch shot him (beam, spin move, failed grab, etcc), try to keep the butt tenderized and aim to the tail while he have red harms, tremor resist 1 is extremely useful to do so. also hb3 and ew5 (ew3 if u are really good) are the only defensive skill u need to be able to comfy counter his attacks, expecially the big one. divine blessing 5 is also really useful (and mandatory for me versus his tempered version, some of his attack are really out of scale). btw, the whole fight is summarized in; wait for an opening, poke him/flinch shot him, evade and be careful of your positioning (if u know how to position yourself, u can use the end of some of his attack to do quick damage), than rinse and repeat, and yeah that's is true for every monster but for rajang is really the only real strategy or u are dead. patiente, knowdlege and training is the keys to beat him. it's really fun to fight him after u have learned how to counter him, even if some of his mechanics are REALLY stupid, but in the end i like it a lot.

@@Kysuma I killed 150 most of them Apex, frenzy, ore Hyper. I know his patterns as good as every pro. And his Grab and Beam are the easyest sources of Damage yes, but can you lure them out? Because I go in a Zone, he takles me while I scroll into Items and then use the oneshot punch. I cant read him if he attacks faster then I can orientate. Im a little slow in this spectrum. DBs are very good against him, but that aparently means nothing anymore...

@@Sunaki1000 effective method to lure those moves doesn't exist. they are tied with the distance of the player for sure, but without know how exactly the IA of rajang is written (or what is the prerequisite to trigger the beam) we can't do much. personally i really doesn't care lure his moves, yes the beam while he's not enraged is a free flinch shot into a wall, but it's better chain punish after punish instead to wait for one big opening, and the hit&run strategy is really the most effective, and the damage stack is also indispensable to create new opening.

His belly flop and spin have somewhat long recovery. In rampage mode, if you have tremor res lvl 1 his triple ground punch can be exploited too. Enough for a crit draw build to work just fine. I also have an ice DB set and sticky lbg for unga

I'm mainly doing runs with TA rules which means no driving monsters into the wall. You can find a link to the rules in the video description. In summary, the idea behind doing runs with TA rules is to show off how to use the weapon against a monster without any "cheesy mechanics" that give you easy free hits like traps or walls.
