Not my fastest run but the pb is only 2 seconds faster so might as well upload the cleaner hunt instead. I think it's possible to beat the current wr (4'22) even without Safi weapons but I don't want to reset for spawns anymore 😴

Savage Deviljho is a really well done monster in Icebrone. If you don't know how to fight him he can be a nightmare, while if you know when attack him he can be so rewarding even if it's not super hard. And mostly he will hunt any monster for you. I love you angry pickle

Switch axe speed is 🔥. It's like a mix of long sword's speed n great sword's damage. I was dishing out crazy amount of damage in a short time against fatalis. And there's that amped state extra damage too 🤌🤌🤌

I noticed you use the clutch claw sometimes just to reposition; seems like a clever way of getting around sword mode's low mobility as it allows you to close the gap to a monster quickly? Awesome job on the time!

What he's doing in the video is Y -> B (repeat) for dualshock that'd be △ -> O (repeat) I don't think this is the highest DPS sword combo, but it has the advantage that you're less vulnerable. It might also more consistently reach Best DPS combo I believe is Y -> Y -> Y -> B (repeat) △ -> △ -> △ -> O (repeat) issue is, this has very high commitment as the last input does three attacks in a row. Note that the first input can be replaced by a transition attack, and skipped entirely if you come out of the backflip attack. Thes are the combos for building up your meter ASAP. Depending on your Phial type you can potentially fill the entire meter in one go, or nearly. As far as I know, power phial is slowest, then power element, then the rest. Short combo: Y -> B -> B △ -> O -> O This is the fastest way to get the backflip, which generates the most charge. You will always want to follow this up with a transition attack, a zero sum discharge, or another Y or △ attack (unless you need to dodge of course) This short combo is great if you have a fast buildup phial type as it will fill the entire meter. Long combo: Y -> Y -> Y -> B -> B △ -> △ -> △ -> O -> O This is extremely high commitment but it will fill your meter to 90% even with power phial. Basically you add a backflip onto the damage combo as this gets out a lot of attacks to build meter. Lastly if you want to go into a zero sum discharge, it's much faster if you do it out of the B attacks, whether it be the double swipe or the backflip. If you have nearly full meter you can start a zsd, wait until meter fills up, then press left bumper or L2 to cancel into a clutch claw, after which you can either soften or press Y+B (△+O) to do a latched ZSD which is stronger.

Just to clarify, Savage Jho staggers after any hit during it's counter, it's not the upswing itself that staggers the monster more easily. It is however one of the faster attacks you can perform in axe mode which makes it great for punishing Jho's counter.

The idea behind TA rules is to mainly make use of your weapon to beat the monster so using other mechanics that give you easy free hits like traps or flinch shots are banned

The 3rd triangle into circle attack has a fairly long attack animation and I wasn't sure if I could still claw onto Jho and do a claw attack afterwards in time so I played it safe with the triangle -> circle combo. That being said though, I've only practiced this matchup for less than a day so it's not necessarily optimized
