Nobody on youtube would ever be crazy enough to attempt such a video. That's why we did it. Everyday we will upload one video - for the next 7 days. This was an insane amount of work to put together even if you can't see the effort behind it very easily. Hope you enjoy!
We rendered those weapons ourselves pulled the data right from the game. You can't find them in this quality anywhere else.
We intentionally left out some of the slap-on designs which are essentially the same just with a different tint. 186 refers to more or less different looking designs.

Smithy: to upgrade your weapon you will need 1 jewel 5 claws 2 horns 5 scales And the result is just a bone version with a some leather attached near the handle

Rise runs on the RE engine, where as world used the MT framework, an older engine capcom had already used to develop previous monster hunter games on, idk which ones though. It's actually kind of a miracle that world even runs on that thing, specially while being as gorgeous as it is. If only (most of) the weapon designs made justice to that engineering prowess...

I've always felt that a design mimicking its tail would be a cool Tobi great sword. The normal could charge with static as you build it up, the Viper one could extend spines.

even the the game kinda fell short on alot of the weapon designs as a whole, for uniqueness, even the bone/iron base weapons look awesome, but when they put the effort in, they really went above and beyond for FX for the weapons and Capcom really does need to be praised for it.

@@mikeluckmann3945 Seriously, man? If Capcom actually was greedy we wouldn' t have gotten Fatalis. The design of the uglier looking weapons would still have cost time to make, and other than the new world monsters, the design for a lot of the older weapons had already been done. (For an example, see the Brachydios dual blades) It probably cost them more money overall to come up with the uglier designs. I don't know why they picked those designs, but it definitely feels intentional and not a cost cutting exercise.

You don't wield it. You always sheath it on your back and you will move as fast as having no weapon at all. You only attack when you're safe to do so during an opening. As GS user you need to learn all the possible ways you can CC the monster and use it as much as possible. Wall bang, mount, traps, sleep, paralysis. Anything that bind a monster in place so you can use your True charge on their weak spot while they can't run away or attack you. It's not that hard.

According to the released interviews by Gaijin and Arreks and others, the design of weapons will be what they are frome their games. World monster weapons will look like world weapons, but other weapon designs will be like the older generation but with updated textures. And I'm sure the new monster weapons will look awesome

I still don't understand how Zorah is in the bone tree... The unique designs are of course the absolute best! To me, Savage Jho's LS is one of the coolest looking ones in the series. I adore the raging dragon breath surrounding the blade in Gen. I hope we will see them again in Rise. Nice video, you guys!

I actually didn't mind the whole metal/bone with monster parts attached. When executed properly it felt like a more natural and plausible upgrade path. You start with metal or bone and as you upgrade it, it gets more monster parts until it has a unique design. Like with pukei hammer. Some of the anjanath weapons. One of my favourite things in video games is being able to visually see my progress. It would be a huge undertaking for the devs to implement a unique look for every upgrade to be visually distinct. However I would LOVE it if I could tell between a fully upgraded armor set and a brand new one at a glance. Like maybe as you upgrade your armor set the initial armor set isn't as refined and cleaned up but as you upgrade the metalwork becomes cleaner, stitching on fabrics and leathers become more intricate. Fully upgraded armor getting the option to completely customize the color. That would be so COOL

As a longsword main, my favourite designs are the Zinogre, Hellish Slasher, and Seething Bazel longswords. And although I typically hate the slap on weapons, I have to say the Anjanath Khopesh and the naked Kjarr longsword look damn fine as well. As for great swords, Shara, Alatreon and Tigrex are my favourites.

There were a total of 4 people working on weapon models for this game, and since this game is on a different engine than the old, everything (including the returning designs) had to be modelled from scratch. Just think about that for a second, 4 people in charge of modelling around 100 designs for each of the 14 weapon types all from complete scratch. They probably got overwhelmed, slap ons were the only way they could conceivably get the game done in time. You could say “they could put more staff on as weapon modellers or just hire more” but you have to remember, the Monster Hunter team isn’t as big as most other AAA studios, those resources were more than likely needed in one or more of the other areas where this game went above and beyond.

Play any other mh and you'll be easily more satisfied just because the armor system is more balanced and punishing requiring you to actually use your brain. All the other games just have a larger monster roster. Making a mh with no loading zones really changed the game to make it something thats not even monster hunter. I don't want to explain more but they got it all wrong with world

Looking at the Tobi longsword right now makes me appreciate Zinogre all the more. I have the feeling that there was a wasted opportunity with his weapons to have a really great design. But it is as it is. The game is finished and I would lie if I said I didn't enjoy the game. The few weapons that were unique were truly unique. Just looking at the Ruiner longsword there. Could nearly be a great sword XD Looking forward to hunt anew in Rise.

I liked FU for the weapons, everything was different. I remember crafting every HH to hear what they sound like. Now it's just the default bone and iron weapons with some parts of the monsters. How sad, weapons have become dmg numbers, you don't craft a weapon for his look anymore, using a bad weapon for his look was a cool challenge. Now I just hope Chameleos LS turn invisible when you charge it

If you want an advice, you should put at least the normals maps for better result. You can also find in the rmt files the roughness and metalness of the objects. But I like you idea a lot !
