The way I viewed it is that the Alatreon Dominator is the perfect anti-Alatreon and Guiding Lands LBG because you can dish out high elemental damage of each element without having to head back to camp if you build right.

Only a few monster like Teostar that element lbg proof ineffective because of the fire aura will prevent you from getting the full damage from pierce ammo. So go back to camp and change to something more effective would be a good idea

Not really. We wanted to make a speedrun to show off the new Dragon Rapid Fire LBG only to find out that it's actually worse than the Kjarr in this specific case. So in order to still be able to make a good video with the footage we recorded and the time commitment that went into it we decided to focus on a comparison and make an explanatory video on why Dragon Rapid Fire is slower, show the history behind this ammo type and why we had so high expectations. But it needed a full explanation to avoid people misinterpreting this LBG to be bad which isn't the case when taking a look at the big picture. Glad you enjoyed it!

What you're after is RazorSharp/Spare shot skill. For melee users it half's sharpness decrease and for gunners it gives them a chance to not use the bullet.

Over one year later, and the Alatreon Dominator really is a dominator- not for speedruns, but for so many other things (Safi/Kulve sieges, Extremoth, Alatreon/Guilding Lands farming...) It's probably become my new favourite LBG.

Going from 2 to 3 shots is a 50% increase, what he meant is that the third shot then accounts for 33% of the new total damage.

Bit of a necro sorry, but the shots after the first shot only deal half damage. Imagine the 2 shots would be 100 damage. first shot would be 66.67. second shot would be 33.33. if you got a third shot your total damage would be 133.33 so an increase of 33%

Using dragon rapid shot has done hilarious damage even to monsters not particularly weak to dragon. I like using one or two dragon shots on knockdowns in multiplayer and then switching back to the elemental weakness/placing mines.

I liked the video. Although I'll like to point out the build I'm using is so confier that it's a pleasure to play with. I take out all resentment from the build (doesn't make that much of a difference for a non speedrunner anyway) and put health augment on the weapon, put maximum evade extender, speed eating and free meal (still with Safi set and spare shot) my build also have blight resistance lv3, health boost lv3, some recovery ups on the mantles. It's extremely comfy and makes the fight with alatreon a piece of cake Although my set is a bit harsh of decoration, I'm using 3 evade extender/ammo up decos

I miss Tri when they just let you bring 20 shots of dragon ammo by default (and that's not including the stuff you could combine in the hunt). Sure, it probably had lower damage values, but it was incredibly satisfying to use.

The ironic thing is of course that the Alatreon dominator may be used to dominate Alatreon as it has all the elements. This of course means that most importantly, you aren't entirely screwed if you fail to break a horn in the second stage.

Chris, I'm fairly sure Dragon RF is not the only one to ignore Recoil mods, the same applies to Sticky 2 RF, another one that fires 2 shots instead of 3.

This is cool, but it bums me out because now everyone's running Dominator for MR KT, and while the hunt is going slightly faster on average, it's bypassing both the horn gold and horn breaks. That's 6 bonus carves that are just disappearing, and the time save is only about as long as it takes to actually carve, so it's not "more efficient" in the long run.

6:13 since before the Bonus Shot skill you only had 2 bullets then the damage increase is 50%, not 33% (unless the damage modifier is different of course)

5 piece safi is always better because (1) the velkhana armor is really bad and (2) the kjarr weapons are better in most cases due to free critical element making it pointless to get crit element or true crit element set bonus. Once AT Velkhana is released then 3 safi 2 velk may be enough to push some Safi weapons over the kjarr.

If you have good jewel inventory, I would recommend you get the armor set which allow you to carry better and more skills. Safi skill is a bad idea unless all you want is dps and carting occasionally.

The way I see it, rapid fire does more damage per shot but slightly less dps compared to singular shots Dragon ammo. If you want to conserve ammo (sort of), rapid fire is the way.

it was alatreons lbg that allowed me to kill him solo. ironically it was after i soloed fatalis, and i killed fatalis faster than alatreon. "i used the alatreon to destroy the alatreon, it nearly killed me!"

I think for fire and thunder better then safi, bcz this alatreon dominator shoots faster, but the con of this lbg is you can't use sleep/para which is not as versatile as using safi aquashot (for water element) and for ice element there's Kjarr Blitz Thunder that can shoot single ice bullet per shot and got critical element with fast auto reload, but personally I prefer using alatreon dominator for fire, thunder and ice

The Aquashot is still the best for Water ammo due to higher clip size and higher raw, the horizon zero dawn LBG is still better for Thunder if you are playing on ps4 otherwise the Ala LBG is the new best one, for Ice and Fire its the new best LBG no doubt.

The SS charm isn't worth it. Tried and tested it out for myself, the procs are too inconsistent with mostly 0-1 procs and if lucky 2. Which you would end up "paying back" because the next few shots will likely go back to 0-1 procs. Maxing out Resentment and Agitator with just Ammo up 3 is the way to go for optimal dps. You would also have space to slot some Attack Boost this way.
