Last speedrun on PS4. Raging Brachy and Furious Rajang are really hard to pull off clean (as I'd like) with CB. I'll try harder on PC whenever I feel like it.

That’s exactly why. Different monster parts, such as the head and legs, have different elemental hitzones. As an example, a head might take massive damage from an SAED burst, but the legs might take much less damage.

@@ztll9272 the OP posted him using Ice Elemental Discharge, the issue here is that Brachy's weakest points, the slime covered parts, have different elemental modifiers depending on state. On normal green slime, it's modifier to Ice is 25 (that's a lot), but when it's red slime, the modifier drops down to a whopping 5! That means Ice deals so much less damage to those parts in Red Slime mode.

Oh, hey. Was just looking at random World CB runs to remind myself what a good CB iteration looks like. ^^ CB, HH, DB and SA are all so much more fun in this game compared to Rise for me. In fact, I think World's weapon roster might be my favourite in the series, or at least it's tied with 4U. Other games may have the best iteration of one or two weapons, but World has the least amount of bad iterations.

Hi I am new to charge blade and really interested in it! Why ironside charm instead of artillery charm or offensive guard charm or earplugs even? Isn't Guard Point strong enough on its own?

DidiSubmarine Some monster attacks are just too strong in Iceborne to block even with a charged shield + guard points. Rainy didn't use any artillery in this build because artillery only boosts impact phial damage. And Rainy is using a power element charge blade, so he wouldn't get any effects from using artillery. Earplugs wasn't used because he can just guard point the roar. And thanks to guard up, he can guard point the roar, and then charge his shield right after, instead of getting knocked back too much. I'm guessing there's no Offensive Guard because it's a Savage Axe set, and offensive guard isn't really useful there because you're not really utilizing guard points. But not really sure. Hope this helped

He isnt that hard solo. He only has like 28k health which isn't too bad. You just have to learn how to I frame his attacks. Usually just stick to his legs and attack as soon as he attacks. For his triple head plant blast attack (the one where he shoots slime in a line twice and then throws you a curveball on the third) just strafe around him till the third attack and just superman dive on the third. Takes me like 15 minutes a run, not too bad.

Hello there... I am Maining CB for quite some time now... But i got a question now... How do you just use one phial when doin the "SAED" deload, which you are not doing... Return to mhw iceborne 4 weeks ago. Reach this raging dude. Just beat it up after 10 tries with elementless DB as CB main. LOL its so hard without health augmentation. I had to use the 75% free meal to keep healing.

If you mean the red axe, that's new in Iceborne (and you can use it if you buy the iceborne expansion). It charges the axe and makes it spin so attacks do extra damage. You can youtube 'new charhe blade moves in iceborne'

You do saed then before you smash hit left trigger and you'll enter savage axe mode then just keepcharged phials by staying balanced with the sword, and you have a savage time.

Health Augments. You get to get them on the final weapons in World and Iceborne (the ones at the end of High Rank and end of Master Rank). They revive a certain % of health dependent on how much damage you do to the monster. They're relatively expensive. Don't expect to get them for at least another 50 hours.

Along with health augments, the big recovery that happens is due to Safijiiva 5 pc armor. The armor bonus works by reducing health every hit and after a number of successful hits on monster replenishes a set amount of health. Used along with elemental CBs because the set bonus also provides a lot of elemental bonus to weapons.

You should be able to get your first kills by Savage Jho armor, but it's much better to use 3 piece Teostra with MR KT gear. Just for general utility and higher damage uptime. It's main weak points are it's head and forearms, the legs don't take much damage at all. I'm assuming you are hitting the legs a lot, which is why you are doing almost no damage. The legs do take a decent bit of elemental damage, tho. It's also important that you have max critical boost, max crit eye and max weakness exploit. If you don't have all those skills, you aren't going to be dealing much damage at all.

However I don’t understand why I should go full crit on an impact phial build, since the impact phials do most my damage, going full balls to the wall on crit seems like a waste. Not saying I don’t have my weakness exploit, since it gives fat crit but I prefer to not take the crit boost and critical eye gems at all.

@@alfredobelloni3258 if you're having trouble learning a fight, dedicate yourself to figuring out the AI instead of going for the win. What I mean is to play more defensive and observe how he moves and when he has openings, instead of trying to hit him whenever you think you can. You can learn a lot. For instance, after doing his move where he runs at you and bitch slaps with an explosion, he'll do a running slam attack with his head. This has a large amount of recovery on it. His triple headslam move delays & turns the third one in whichever direction you strafe. However it doesn't actually track you, so you can bait him to turn one way, and go the other way, or just back to central position, and watch him shoot the attack at nobody. In general though the safest position is beneath/behind, and his legs are actually a good target too as he trips easily. Try to use the claggers (look it up if you don't know what that means) to weaken them as well.

Well he’s a speed runner, so of course he’ll be using all-offensive skills, he never gets hit. You on the other hand should get more defensive skills and augment your armor to max out the defense level. That, and add blast res to your build. That’s a couple of ways you can survive longer

When you clutch on to a monster that's drooling (exhaustion) it refreshes the time it's stunned and adds a bit more time. Speedrunners use this technique to refresh/extend the exhaustion time. I've used/seen others use this technique when running with in groups to get free dps.
