I’m transitioning from IG to HH and I’m having SO MUCH FUN! HH makes me feel like I was born to play it, literally! Lol I can smack down anything on my way and if I see I’m not being much of a use to my team, I’ll just take a breath, buff everybody and go back into smacking... So versatile, stylish, fun... can’t stopping praising it. I never thought I would fall in love with a MH weapon like I did for HH.... Yeah I love the Garuga horn too it’s good for everything even without attack large the team damage from have earplugs makes up for it I think. My team usually can just stun lock the monster in place because we don’t have to worry about roars it’s super good and the poison is just a great bonus pretty much great for every monster.

Frostfang horn is one of the best, damage sharpness he buffs, very excellent choice and I'd say competes with the fatalis horn and the tunes are easy and flow together beautifully you can stack the notes with ease one after another

Ruiner horn and glavenus horn are the ones I use most, though With the Laguna being in my loadout lists, as well as the “Blaze” in a Gaia set. I’ve crafted Zinny, Seething, and Yian’s, but none I were happy with the builds I made for them. As a side, the wolf shamisen I do desperately want to make a functional (comfy and clean) build for, but the sharpness hurts my soul. Everything else about it is perfect, though! A beautiful soundstrack, design, and songlist, and it has _poison_ my distant love in World. There’s really not a lot of comfy poison options for the weapons I use which upsets me greatly.

So I know this was months ago, but what's your opinion on the new Guild HH from the 50 Shades of White event quest? Believe it has the same song list as the Velkhana weapon, but is raw damage with hidden water. I personally love that horn.

Good list, I personally use Madbone the most since its a little weaker but more useful version of the Rasping Ballad, then I use the Hydros Horn if my party consists of mostly elemental DPS and against Namielle to make the fight trivial, also against Luna because the Wind Pressure song. Last one I use is Teostra's Musica against Vaal Hazak, Brachydios and Nightshade Paolumu(lol)

With the Shamisen's innate affinity plus the song, you won't need Crit Eye, and that makes it a rare case where Rex Roar Greaves can replace the godly Garuga. I've had my eye on it for a while now, but I'm loving the Ruiner for its non-dependence on Master's Touch and Handicraft 😂 For fun, I built the Musica, and it came in handy in the RE collab quest. Not really a fan of blast, but having it pop during a spin is kinda cool. I also built the Denden since I used Styx a lot in the base game, but I haven't been getting any Kusha investigations lately, and that's about the only matchup I would use it on now. But most used? Eisfyl and Rasp for me all the way.

My favourite horn is probably the velkhana horn. It really is just stunning. Shamisen also got a place in my heart as it is just so easy to build around it and the eastern vibes are really nice. If it was about song sets the glavenus horn would be one of my tops, didn’t pick the bazel one because it can be quite a pain to slot in handicraft. I actually also really like the Teostra horn. It has an amazing defensive song set and it’s design is really cool. Though it doesn’t have attack up large and the lack of deco slots is also kind of a bummer.

HandiTips Gaming hell yeah. The first time I laid my eyes upon this beauty after having finally defeated that one flying guy that kept stabbing me and disrupting me with those walls I was in awe. I am just kinda sad that not all monsters weapons have unique designs. Like damn there is so much potential for all of those monsters but they wasted it. Though then again when I last compared it to other weapon types the hunting horn may not be the worst off in terms of variety. I may be wrong though as I only compared it to lance and to a certain extent great sword.

In base game I was kind of like hell nah those horns don’t have attack up large? I won’t spot with those. At some point I realized that that was limiting my variety of what horns to craft immensely and I said fuck it. Those look cool af I will Friggin play those. And decided to farm every unique lookin horns.

after 350h~ i finally discovered HH, but i have no idea what songs are good or not, so i just rocked the beetlejuice one for arround 100 hunts now, and ima be honest, im in love, it feels great, songs fit my playstyle, and it sounds amazing. but i have seen allot of HH videos now, and nobody mentions it, so im questioning myself wether its actually good or if im gimping myself with it. so i finally got the austere paradise, and i totally agree with you, its overall a great weapon, but it has no oompf when i play the notes, with the Rooksearer drum i feel like i lead my hunter friends into battle with my fierce songs, and the austere paradise sounds like finger nails on a chalkboard... anyone got a hunting horn tier list on what is good, so i have some options to choose from? or should i just keep using my Rooksearer?

I started playing HH last week with the palace horn and goddamn i dont get why more people play this weapon, its so much fun, you can either go support like capcom wants you to (which is fine), or just absolutely destroy monsters with 500dmg spins with close to 2000 attack, such an amazing feeling

Not one I take on every hunt, but the Rathian horn is basically perfect for taking on ice element monsters, due to it’s fire element, elemental boost song, and ice resist(L) song. It has pretty good raw and affinity too.

Hey, what about Rajang's HH? I always were a big fan of HH, it is my second weapon of choice after GS. In every game since MH3U, i've been crafting the coolest HH I found out in the weapon shop and used it in some quests, for fun. But now that I made and completed my own GS build in Iceborne, I'm trying to really learn HH. It is a fun weapon. And I forged a Kirin Set and made Denden Daikoto use with it...

On principal, I refuse to use hunting horns without a unique design. Also, i love the Bazelguese hunting horn with vaal hazal regeneration with recovery up. You are just invincible. The red part of the health instantly recovers and the rest of my health regens to full in less than five seconds because the 'extended health regen' buff stacks with the armor regeneration. As long as you keep your buffs up and don't get hit multiple times in very short succession, you just can't die.

I find myself switching between the sonorous and the ore horn the most. They share the same song list and deal good damage. So far the guiding lands have been my training grounds for this weapon category and only once the lobby fills up. It’s been imperative to have attack up L because trading the damage I deal for a support dedicated build has been a tough pill to swallow.

That horn took me alllll the way through base World! You'll only grow to love it more. The Raging Brachy horn will be just like that in the later stages of Iceborne. All ailments negated horns are awesome!

As a player new to iceborne im still using the high rank deep vero, and soon a friend of mine is gonna help me farm savage pickle to upgrade it, that should carry me through most content until I decide I like another horn better. The only problem is every horn has its own learning curve so I suck for a few hunts every time I get a new horn

I would highly highly recommend the Acidic Glavenus horn if you're looking for straight up damage. If you you want a comfy horn with white sharpness and want to get away from the attack up L songlist for a bit go for the Ruiner horn.

While the Ruinous Desolation has the same song set as the shamisen but with higher raw, high seal, and all that white sharpness, the shamisen imo is one of the best horns for the people who do support builds like kzbin.info/www/bejne/lWawfqGloLx-gpY It doesn't focus on heals so no wasted overlap and with the affinity on it plus boost, you can work your decos where you don't need weakness exploit or shed some of the crit eye and not worrying about earplugs interrupting songs and heals. Plus the poison works well with not being able to focus on the monster as frequently. Lastly, I may be biased as I made my character to look like one of the painted face geisha and so the shamisen just 'works'

Sadly it's pretty rough in iceborne. 🙁 They let it keep the heavy affinity penalty but not the much higher raw attack. Not one of the best options.. But if you like it, use it!!

I can see why you say that! But honestly the only thing they share is the song set. A lot of difference in damage, affinity, element, slots. Don't let that raw attack alone dictate it for ya! Shara smacks against dragon weak monsters when you wake up that element. Denden can absolutely bring the pain but it doesn't outclass in every situation!

Nyx Barone! Rarity 10, great sharpness, Teo's song set, a nice little lvl 2 gem slot, and you get 1-3 extra slinger bursts if the monster sleeps while enraged. Sure, the damage isn't ideal, but it's potent enough when slapped onto a full regen build that also maxes out agitator and peak performance. I now have little regard for my own safety and am probably a worse player for it. When I can augment my Bazel horn, tho... my teammates will start carting again, is the answer.

I love the Nyx Barone and Teo's horn. Their songsets negate so many monsters, and give tons of openings. I'm running crit status/master's touch builds on both right now, and they're my go to horns. Sleeping a monster 3-5 times a hunt is really nice, and my friends love the extra comfort and status up stuff. Also, that speed boost song is one of my favorites in the game.

Sonic waves are a screamer pod basically it'll knock monsters out of the ground if they burrow and you do it near them. The other waves vary impact does tons of KO and a lot of damage if you chain three together and encore and dragon wave I'm not too sure about I think it just does a lot of dragon damage if you hit a monster weak to it.

I honestly thought the wolf would be the number 1 cause that 25% base affinity, plus the crit eye skill makes this thing to some crazy damage, flinches, and ko's if you invest in slugger. Will give the shara horn a go, not really my horn of choice but I'll give it a shot.
