My brother and I just unlocked Fatalis. He mains SnS and LS; me, Bow and Hammer. I struggled a lot, especially trying to hit the head and running away from his attacks lmao. Tomorrow I'll employ your tips to get further into the fight. Thank you :)

Don't even play bow and don't plan on it, but commenting to show appreciation for the good high effort and informative guide 🙏 One extra thing I'd note for people: when baiting Fatalis to the Dragonator, don't stand on the raised platform with the switch, stand on the ground under it. When you're on that platform, Fatalis likes to stand still and spam ranged attacks at you without moving, which can all be very difficult to dodge. When on the ground and far, he might still spam ranged attacks, but he'll come to you sooner rather than later. Just be ready to climb up in case he decides to do a long ranged cone on you.

I think high ground still safer for me he only do ranged fire ball you can run to dodge it or superman dive also its very useful if you play multiplayer its instantly targeting you but if you stay on the ground fata have so many attack variation and you might getting cone breath.

when I'm in multiplayer. I like to go back to base when he's at 51% of life, before the last phase, to get more coating, I think it's a very interesting tip in multiplayer.

I am currently badly stuck at 10min.. i just cant seem to get below 10min. I finish phase 1 by 27:13 and phase 2 by around 25:10min left. I am just to slow in the last phases :/ 10‘13“51 beeing my best time right now

Not really, since the added damage will be the same whether you use it in phase 1/2 or 3. If you're not confident in phase 3 you keep them for this phase but it's not necessary. There are strats that involved keeping "some" power coatings for the end of the fight, so you can paralyze before he does the last nova and have a tad more damage which will help with killing him before he flies to do his last nova. It's how you skip the last nova in TA speedrun. But since this guide was more aimed towards casual play I did not mention it!

The head is still a good dragon hit zone? I heard that bow focuses a lot on elemental, so I would assume an Alatreon bow with Safi armor and dragon attack +6 would be very efficient? I don't use bow or any ranged weapons, so happy to get corrected if I am wrong.

Not really, yes the head is a good elemental hitzone, but bow is still generally about 60/40% raw/Ele. Also the fact it’s not a weak point means you don’t prob weakness exploit so you lose 50% affinity straight up. Much much better to focus the chest

@@LyonOlivier69 Thanks for your reply. Good to know if I try bow. I like that elemental is actually relevant with this weapon. Beside CB, DB and maybe SnS (which I play raw only), going 100% raw is king and elemental is not worth it.

I didn't want to farm alatreon or safi to beat fatalis so I ended up beating him with freakin narga X and Icescepter. And by beating I mean failing the quest on timeout after breaking pretty much every part and plunderblading my way to victory.

It’s to avoid losing peak performance from the small flames on the ground in p3, it’s not absolutely necessary, and you can use heat resistance as an alternative

Hey man quick question, how do I prevent fatalis from using cone breath immediately after phase 1 when I'm on roaming ballista? Is it completely random? Really frustrating to deal with.

He does it if you’re far away so that’s normal. You can either use the smoke bomb Strat, or if he does a cone you can go behind one of the pillar in the middle and you’ll be safe

Absolutely. If you mean the safi set this is Pre fatalis build. If you have fatalis gear then use the build from the definitive edition video

You can get evil eyes without breaking its head. Breaking the head just guarantees you 1 evil eye. Unfortunately there isn’t a good way to break the head with bow. You can do it but it’s painful and long

Since Bow was pretty much the only weapon I knew well enough to fight Fatalis with, all of my kills on him have been with Bow, and every time I have killed Fatalis I have had less than 1 minute left in the quest

I don't know if it was a bug that was fixed, but Fatalis never loses track of me when I use a smoke bomb. It just never works, no matter my timing.

You need to have aggro, so in multiplayer it only works if he targets you. Even if it does it’s only during certain specific animations. It should still work I’ve done it last time I played less than 2 weeks ago and there hasn’t been an update since

Nice guide, it is really helpful. I would say that in multiplayer you need to be more careful because your team mates move fatalis around. I have been caught by pizza fire and fire hose many times and that wasn't even my fault lol. Personally, if I'm not halfway to fatalis, I use farcaster when he starts his attack animation.

Outside of heroics yes, but the fatalis set is a lot more comfortable, so if you’re not used to the fight just yet I’d stick with fatalis if you have it

This and KT are the two fights I abandon the bow for the IG. Think they tried to balance the bow guns for this fight and the bow ended up a poor matchup. But this guide slaps tho. good stuff man!

Hi Tidus, Great video, you nailed all of the important parts. I do want to add some small details that you didn’t mention. While you mentioned in the first portion of the video that you should stay close to Fatalis, I found out that staying too close to Fatalis will often trigger it to slither (only when it’s on all 4 legs). What I mean is that if your character is positioned inside his arm and chest area, it will most likely slither. So stay close definitely the way to go, but staying too close may not be optimal. Try and position just right outside of the arm/chest area will result in more bite attacks compared to slithers. Also hunterpie tells me Fatalis will nova at 78% and 26%, instead of the 77% and 27% you mentioned (maybe it’s a rounding issue on hunterpie?) Overall, great video! It’s very useful for people who are attempting bow solo.

Hi thank you for your comment, and yes i mentioned in phase 1 that you should be standing in front of the chest and not in between the chest and arms, that way he is more likely to do bites instead of slithering and fireballs. But i should maybe have been more clear on that. And yes this is just rounding shenanigans for the novas lol

I can do the run with alatreon bow normally but dude 2 weeks of trying get a sub 10 with heroics and I've just got 1 run 😂😂 that hella hard don't know how long it took you to get that speedrun
