This footage was recorded quite a while ago (before I speedrun this monster), so my movement and commentary are a bit sloppy.
I thought about re-recording, but doing so would’ve delayed the upload more, so I decided to use this one.

Thank you Zen-san, i finally managed to get my first Fatalis kill and complete the story quest solo, and it's all because of this video. It took me 26 minutes and wasn't able to break the head a second time, but I only died once and completed the quest without punching my screen, so that's a win for me :D Thanks again!

For the 360 degree breath that he takes guard up for, you can actually avoid it by using the clutch claw and attaching to Fatalis

Also worth noting, that after several tests done by several people with overlays that display Fatalis's overall health and partbreak health, wall slams only do partbreak damage to his head if it's tenderized.

As this goes against info I had come accross earlier, I just posted a comment on a discord with a bunch of active pc players asking if someone could test this. Turns out this isn't exactly how it works. Here's the result of a quick test someone did for me: Wall slam with untenderized head: 1.2k damage (both to hp and part damage) Wall slam with tenderized head: 1.3k damage (both to hp and part damage) So it appears that while tenderizing does help somewhat, it certainly isn't required.

@@woucka see the thing is, It's natural that a softened part would take more damage from a wall bang. I mean, you do more damage to a softened part with your weapon. It's not Capcom doin shit, it's common sense

I’ve helped a couple of people in their first clears. Notice that the fight doesn’t require you to have your weapons out most of the time. Focus on dodging the attacks and positioning. That is the most important thing in this fight. Good positioning gives you more opportunity to sneak in attacks here and there. Also no need for full combos every time you attack. When I play switch axe, I only do a 3 hit combo each small opening to charge up my blade. This gives me a lot of room to dodge his attacks.

Honestly, most of my runs I've done, I failed not because of a lack of damage, but because I died too much lol. Couldn't agree more with the fact that dodging and positioning should be the primary focus. Now if only I could apply that into my own runs....

Added note: Fatty flinches every 4500 partbreak damage to the head (solo) And on flinch #3 (13500), his head breaks partially. On flinch #6 (27000), his head will be fully broken.

I like to start with the camouflage mantle so I can easily load the cannons, then turn the left canon 3 pushes to the right, and remove mantle next to the right canon, fatalis always runs towards you so you can fire at point blank, then fire the left canon. With heavy artillery that's 450x10= _4500_ safe damage and a topple

Speaking of spinning 360° breath i don't think is dodgeable at least not the opening of it because has multi hit lingering damage. Happened i had evasion mantle when under his neck and nowhere to go so i tried to it, for a brief moment i survived and mantle glowed red triggering but right after that i blown up. During the actual 360 i guess it should work but i never tried

Is SnS a good weapon to break Fatalis head for evil eye? I heard perfect rush combo only do 0.3x partbreak damage except the final hit which does normal 1x.

From my observations it's pretty bad, the head is hard to hit plus bad part dmg

It does help with the head break, it gives you the chance to attack the head while he's toppled. And big chunk of damage too from the cannons.

Im 2 months late but make sure to leave your palico, when he's on 2 legs, position yourself in front of him, right where his head would be if he was on all 4, then wait for the fire puddle, he's almost certainly going to do the cone.

just some note : when you flinch him when he stand you can flinch him again after that as long as you not move his head when do the flinch at 2 leg Dont worry about the opener when do the backhop, only sns player who face that problem when do backhop but instead the guard come 1st xD

@@ask1199 一説によるとですが、兵器怯み値は1000→3000→3000という感じで増えていって 大砲は与ダメの3割、移動バリスタは与ダメの1割、バリスタは与ダメそのままが蓄積されていくらしいです 大砲やバリスタは定期的に補給されているため、それら兵器をフル動員すれば3回兵器ダウンしますよ

You have to have both heavy artillery lvl 2 and also makes sure the chest is tenderized just before he enters phase two. Try to mostly hit the chest. Having temporal on protects you from getting hit and smoke bombs make him land. You can also try to make him enraged before phase 2 for max damage possible but just being tenderized should be enough. One thing of note however is that the heavy weapon knock down threshold seems to work like status thresholds meaning it increases after every knock. The reason why I think this is because I got the machine gun knockdown consistently when going solo and doing the previously mentioned things. But when I played with my brother we got a cannon knock on him first in the first phase and when we then tried the roaming ballistae knockdown it didn't work even when we unloaded the whole clip into him so I'm pretty sure his heavy weapon threshold increases after you get the first knockdown.

Slinger Burst seems to have a shorter preparation animation after a roll (with drawn weapon, of course).

Same reason Greatsword players don't always go for TCS: commitment. Perfect Rush leaves you fairly vulnerable compared to the utterly massive amount of options SnS usually has, so it's quite easy to end up overextending with it.

I finally got all his gear a couple of days ago and boy is fatalis hard to farm. I eventually just resorted to breaking his head twice and returning from the quest. Hes an amazing fight but hes so hard. At the end of it all i got really good at fighting him with my greatsword but its not even worth it because he probably wont even get an arch tempered (hope he does though). I ended up killing him 29 times in just that one day LOL. I really wanted all the gear.
