Too expensive to slot in earplugs which I hate. Or takes up your necklace deco spot. Great for big punishes tho like long sword and chargeblade axe discharges. What weapon do you main?

Not Odogarons, special for Ebony only. It's because we want to knock him out of his dragon mode, less aggressive and easier to deal with. Only elemental weapon could knock him out of it.

Earplugs provides a good dps window for any weapon. You’re not the only one standing still while the monster roars, it is too.

Ipun yes, technically. But that’s not practical, there are plenty of situations where actions other than a charge can be interrupted by a roar. A weapon attack while grappled for example. Every monster stands still while they roar. Being able to completely ignore that is still going to give you a bigger dmg window than rolling through it. Considering we’re discussing a dmg window of only a few seconds, that roll becomes a significance portion of that time.

8:31 Could someone explain to me why he clutch claws on and then jumps off the monster ? I saw a lot of speed runers do this but when they are far from the monster not in the perfect range. I also saw some guys do it when they’re exactly under a monster’s chest it just pains me they can just spam attack but they rather cling to the monster, jump off, AND THEN attack ?! Makes the drool longer and make it easier to build-up damage so that my single draw attack is able to stagger it later, creating another opening, or in flying wyvern case like Legiana, to dunk.

You're amazing, great run. I'm sorry if it's been answered but why GS players say elemental is bad ? Like if I'm gonna fight Valkhera, I'll use a fire GS, ice GS for teostra...

Thanks :) Elemental mv on GS is bad, it doesn't increase your overall damage in general, and raw GS got elementless to buff up its raw, increasing the overall damage more. You can still use fire GS on Velkhana or ice GS on Teostra, like I usually did, but raw GS such as Acidic is just better choice to deal with them.

Don't qoute me on this, elemental adds like ,10-20 dmg per hit. And the GS is a Very slow hiting weapon so they prefer the no element boost (I think its like 5% dmg increase) that is better on weapons that do 500+ dmg on swing, element IS better in SnS and DB

The main reason is Ebony Odogaron. You need elemental damage to knock it out of its frenzy state. Coral Pukei and Zinogre are also weak to ice, which is an added bonus.
