Oh no, the Slicing Ammo didn't have the sing sing sing animation. I'm a bit disappointed.

Couple of my own takeaways (may change since this is still beta): - I think mounted gunning offers the high mobility but the fire rate seems slower, so it's not the be all end all imo. - Normal, pierce, and spread ammo has infinite reserves (good for early game gunning), and normal ammo by default is rapid fire. Normal might actually be competitive with spread and pierce. - Wyvernheart is actually worth it now with the faster loading animation and recharge time. - Perfect guard shows up in the action list. I wonder if it has extra guard strength? - Wounding mechanic is more natural. Different ammo types might have different wounding rates.

That mounting transition is also faster now which is fucking huge! HBG gameplay looks much more promising now with the mounted run and gun game style imo.

I don't know about guard strength, I imagine it's stronger on perfect guards. But I think the reason it's specifically listed is cause you need perfect guards to do the power clash

Perfect Guards do increase guard strength, not sure by how much (or if it depends on the weapon type), basically like a Charge Blade guard point it seems.

Rate of fire was never a big deal with modern cannon HBGs, especially with Sticky n Slicing shots. Just be accurate.

​@@maxspecs rate of fire matters a lot, it's what decides if the ammo is good or not. Mounted gunning lowers rate of fire but removes the downside of slow reload, so it may be better for utility ammos like sticky, sleep, para

Yes, Capcom has scaled down each monster HP so hunters can get used to the fights. The HP will be dramatically higher when the game launches. Also, great gameplay by Ang!!

HBG gets around 3-6 wounds per Rey Dau hunt Longsword and greatsword get roughly 20. Seems HBG while being able to mount and having more consistent early game dps is balanced quite heavily by not doing hundreds of free dmg and part breaks every 30 sec.

It was the new focus mode of HBG. Basically you get 3 exploding bullets that stagger the monster if you hit their red weakspots iirc

haven’t quite meshed with the hbg yet, but N2 on the lbg feels great. fyi, when in lbg’s rapid fire mode, you can literally just hold the trigger down until the magazine is empty. can’t wait for the full game to see all the ammo variations. also, only having 12 slicing isn’t as bad as i thought it would be. cut a balihara tail in like 9 shots. aim for the weak spot you create on a tail and it pops faster edit: also, this monster makes the weirdest dang noises 😂

I definitely dislike the ability to shoot from the mount. I wish they would’ve kept it for mobility only. Cheesing bosses is not my thing but I guess it helps people that don’t care. Great stuff man.

Don’t fall for it. All the ammos in the HBG are just lvl 2 max. If the HBG can fire ice ammo lvl 2 - I wouldnt consider using slicing

I'm really not a big fan of a hunter being able to attack while mounting, makes engaging the monster meaningfully almost optional.. At the very least you should take double damage when you are hit on your mount or sth.. Or make the mount scared so it can't be recalled once you've been spotted by a monster. Not supposed to be a jab to your gameplay btw, if it works it works. I'm just not a fan of that mechanic. If I want to ride around on stuff I can boot up Palworld..

Ok so yeah. mounted ranged combat is as braindead as I thought it would be. Slightly lower fire rate in exchange for being pretty much unkillable. How riveting. So long as you have a functioning brain to turn around once in a while, seems like the auto-dodge will always cover for any potential misplay. As if the bowguns weren't already busted as hell, now you can't die. DLC will introduce homing bullets, mark my words. Won't even have to aim. Sorry for being a negative nancy.
