its part of the combo, after the bomb swipe it does a quick reload , then another bomb swipe downwards

Surprise attack, every weapon has one and it triggers when you attack the monster when it hasn't seen you

It ended on November 3rd, and unfortunately Capcom doesn't have plans to run another open beta. You'll have to wait until the game releases in February
