There's no Weakness Exploit in the build, so presumably the Affinity augment was to make sure that he got above 0% unconditional affinity. It might not matter for the phial impacts but it does for the attacks made charging up, which are a non-negligable amount of damage.

Actually it pisses me off, because it could easily be a video of me playing, but the subtle differences in timing and predicting the monster's movements make all the difference in the world. His little 0.5 second decisions are what seperate my scrub ass from him, even though we have (mostly) the same gear lmao.

I’m really glad TA rules are a thing. The rocksteady mantle runs where people continously hack at a monster praying that the monster misses and that their palico would heal them was boring. The aerial runs are sometimes cool but I don’t like someone getting the world record by continuously jumping off a ledge.

I'm glad to see monsters getting more durable, but attacks with no telegraphs is a bit much. Capcom hasn't done that even in their fighting games other than a couple glaring exceptions. Eventually the whole franchise will start to revolve around a block and counterattack meta if they keep it up. The lance and gunlance have already gained tons of popularity as a result of the lack of telegraphs as it is.

Almost every game in MH has monsters dying faster, only recently have we been getting decently tanky stuff so it seems the problem is slowly resolving, but it's mainly about the erratic AI with very few to no real patterns, and a myriad of almost instant attacks.

Rainy yeah its hyper noticeable on Luna huh? She has at least 4 of those: a bite, a paw swipe, a tail swipe and the blue flamethrower forward. Nergigante has the jabs forward. Teo has similar stuff to Luna (poor guy gets stuck in place), Vaal has none i can think of but his hitboxes are retarded, Kushala gets the dumb bite and charge and Kirin is just fast in general. I don't really speed-run but I've noticed this bullshit as well, especially the enraged roar combos Kush/Teo/Luna get. Some of the Tier2 monsters also get this but its much lesser. Really makes me wonder how they will handle G-Rank and how much bullshit they will have then.

Rainy This is something that really bugs me about World. Anjanath is a prime example of this problem. Big bite attack with huge start-up? You get knocked over on your feet and some slight chip damage. One near instanteous chomp that looks like chip damage? You go flying with a good chunk of your health gone. I really wonder if this was just a way of making the fights artificially more difficult due to World's new movement system with being able to roll out of attacks quicker and cancelling animations and all.

As far as the Elders go, Nerg gives me way more trouble than the rest for some reason (I'm not at Luna yet). Like, his hp pool seems to be the lowest, but the margin for error is so low. I've gone from getting knocked down, getting up stunned and koed more times than I could count with him. Diablos and Anjanath gave me the same issues at first (especially Diablos).

Idk, I kind of like that monsters move erratically, it adds to a sense of realism while also negating this boring rhythm of monster just getting stomped because you can anticipate every action. I think a fair mixture of non-telegraphed attacks sprinkled into their usual patterns spices things up.

Nice run dude. One thing though; I completely agree with your description. The way Capcom is handling monsters in this game is pretty weird, way too many insta attacks and unbalanced gimmicks are holding this game from being the best mh title to date, imo. Not saying World is bad, it's just that this game has so much potential that is being dragged away by things like the ones mentioned before.

Assuming Capcom maintains the trend that's been slowly building since the Monster Hunter games of old, it seems pretty likely it'll eventually get to the point where everybody runs a block build and spends all their time counterattacking.

Yeah it has a really high skill ceiling, but the skill floor is also really high. If you're not good at MH, charging phials, guard-pointing, charging your shield, charging your sword, and SAED-ing is a LOT to manage. World was my first MH game and I got it when it came out, but by February I quit because I started with the Charge Blade and got my ass handed to me by everything, so progress was titanically slow. I came back to it 2 months ago and something just clicked, I've gotten way better with CB and can do Elder dragons in 4-5 minutes. CB is pretty OP, but you also have to be pretty talented to even survive with it.

Slugger is useful if your style involves regular head-sniping with phial impacts, it won't likely get you more K.O.s than you otherwise would, but it will get you them faster which may or may not be significant, YMMV. In terms of strict optimisation it's not that great though, as Dead is the best ailment in the game.

Alejandro Gimenez The agitator skill doesn't increase your phial damage that much. Especially since he only had it at level one. Here is an example of a hunter who didn't have Agitator, yet still had higher damage values when the monster was enraged. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eHrRnoObgrScirs In the vid, his phial damage was 87 when the monster wasn't enraged. When it was enraged, it did 101 per phial. He didn't have Agitator, so it is not just the Agitator in this vid. As I stated, I noticed this with Teo, Luna, and Kulve.

2:25 Agitator skill has been activated. Gives a buff when a large monster is enraged. Phial damage is based on raw damage during calculation, hence the damage increase.

Her blue flames after much trial and error is actually manageable.. i solo her with my lance. The thing is guard up is a must for me when she fans her flames, like at 3:25... that can only be blocked with guard up. I enjoyed her challenge, i had to get a totally different approach
