CantaPerMe is the white fatalis IG better than crimson fatalis IG?
@doorbox7887 жыл бұрын
I think the Crimson Fatty is usually better, unless a monster is specifically weak to thunder, which i'm pretty sure the white fatty glaive has. Don't quote me on that though :)

So questions, how do you guys become " experts " about sets and watnot, values etc like doesn't it take forever? Remember all weapons, styles, items and be so fast at executting while knowing every single monster's pattern seems insane to me. It's already long enough I feel like to master one weapon, and then do pro speed run like this. I know some people who went to solo dalamadur in 4u... So my questions would be; 1- How long does it take you guys to master weapons when you pick them up? 2-how to you approach it personally, watch videos? Somehow know how to calculate values and find the most optimal way to fight with it alone? And how do you even calculate that? 3- Same for set how do people know that for exemple sharpness at x level is worst than an atk boost, where do they calculate the value to be so sure? 4- And lastly, solo hunters, how do you go about it?? Like some of you go faster than some 4 group I see sometimes. You study monster pattern pick whatever weapon works best or yolo pick and go to town with loads of practice? I'm really curious, I'm okay, I've done nearly all achievments in gen and 4U except some tedious ones but I would like to feel I'm improving with weapons and technicalities.

I´m no pro hunter(as you can probably tell since I´m not a content creator) but I consider myself above average using bow so I want to give you my two cents about your queries maybe raising awareness for your very interesting question. 1.It took me 3 days to learn basic controls, around a day to start playing competently and a few weeks until I became good enough to not have horrendous times doing solos 2.I watched a bow only let´s play(Called BvM) done by a guy called Stoic Deviant, while time consuming it taught me everything about the bow and how to deal with almost every situation without feeling disconnected from him since he isn´t a crazy master like Canta, I haven´t found mono weapon type runs anywhere else, so he´s your best bet if you wanna master a weapon. THE values can be found easily in wikis, and according to your weapon. 3.I just remember the value boost and i do some quick estamiting(so it isn´t very brain taxing), but if you want to know exactly, you´ll have to know:Your weapons damage, the attack boost, the resistance of a monster and possibly meal boosts. 4.Because I´m a set maniac I figth monsters a lot meaning the fastest I manage to get is by always targeting weakpoints and finding exploitable positions so that the monster has trouble annoying me. Additionally when you are feeling really bored, you can try a new strategy teaching if your previous strategy was good and what to avoid doing during a run. Not very profesional but I hope you eventually you get the answer you are looking for.
@0TTERBRO7 жыл бұрын
Alex Ruiz I like it, thank you for taking the time to answer I really appreciate it! I'm gonna learn monsters weak point and go from there, I use mainly Switch Axe, Bow and Prowler effectively for now but I want to perfect more weapons so that's perfect! :)

I have over 2000 hours in the game I have the most hours in (4U) and would only consider myself an expert at a few weapons, though I have a high degree of familiarity with everything but switchaxe, which just doesn't appeal to me. "Mastery" is a tricky thing to define. Someone who does TA might not be that far ahead of someone who doesn't in skill even though the latter gets times that are 50% worse because the latter might not bother with buffing for example, or might use sets that look better over ones that are stronger, and probably won't reset if they don't get an optimal spawn and so on. Also, the skillsets of a good solo player and good online player are a bit different. For "competence" I would say about 15-20 hunts is all it took me for most weapons. For "mastery," which I define as the point where I feel extremely familiar with and in control of a weapon to the point where I do not really feel its limitations (in movement or otherwise) because controlling it feels very natural, so that the only factors making the game difficult are my personal reaction time, familiarity with the monster itself, etc and not anything to do with the weapon, I would say around 400-500 hunts. But there are weapons I still only have around 200-300 hunts with that I would compete in TA with, if I were inclined to do so to begin with (I've only bothered keeping track of a PB in one hunt with one weapon because I do not have much interest in that scene). When I started with 3U and 4U, I read some guides from a community I was a part of (they weren't very good, and a lot of them had outdated info going back as far as FU), watched GH's videos on each weapon and read up on all the motion values of the weapons. After familiarising myself with a weapon, I'll watch TAs of it to see little nuances in how top players play it that might give some insight to the best MV/s or more importantly MV per window that I could be missing. That's why I'm on this video now, actually. I messed with brave IG a bit when XX first came out, but wanted to see how its (optimal) gameplay compared to guild to see if the automatic kinsect launches are actually used or just the brave block, and decide if it was right for me, since I finally got around to making one of my favourite IGs aesthetically. I calculate everything by hand and keep a personal text document with important values like sharpness modifiers on raw and element jotted down with no organisation or labels, I just recognise most of the numbers at this point so it's easy for me to navigate. I believe there are several sites that let you calculate damage by just plugging in different factors like skills and weapons, but I've heard most of these have issues because they're made right after games are released when some information is inaccurate or something. A really important tool I do use, though, is Athena's Armour Set Search (ASS), which has versions for 3U, 4U and XX, and possibly World (I know the author of the tool mentioned they were going to make one for World, so they probably have by now). You plug in all your talismans (and relics if you're playing 4U), set how many slots your weapon has and do a quick search to see sets using the optimal pieces that have those skills, if nothing shows up (or nothing that looks good enough to wear) you adjust the skills, dropping the levels of things like attack up or dropping utility skills like evasion+ or sharpener until you get good results. Advanced search is mainly for removing pieces you don't like the look of or don't want to craft from the search, and automatically selects the next-best pieces compared to the ones you remove, so it can be good for finding more fashionable sets. You can also search with "slotted talismans" instead of "my talismans" to find ALL possible sets with any talisman, which is good for comparing two different weapons that use different skills when used at their absolute best (or for finding sets if you are willing to hack the talisman you need...), or search using "3 slot talismans" to come up with sets that anyone can make regardless of what talis they have, as long as they have ANYTHING with three slots. ASS is important mainly because it helps you tell what skills you'd actually be trading, eg how much more attack up you could get if you dropped from sharpness +2 to +1, considering it's not just a linear point attribution system but a sort of jigsaw puzzle of different armour pieces. And the answer is "yes." Loads of practice is HOW you study monster patterns and learn which weapons work best (for you) for different monsters. I often prefer solo hunting because randoms tend to be infuriating, either because they're really rude or really bad at the game, and I personally feel that a lot of the reason my solo times are sometimes faster than four-man times is that bad players actually make the hunt harder by launching people away from the monster, making the monster behave erratically (for weapons like GS, CB or hammer) without supplying the additional damage to make up for it, wasting sleep by waking the monster up with weak attacks, etc, which is corroborated by the fact that my solo kill times for some monsters are faster than some four-man times I've gotten for the same monsters *even though I was one of the four men.* There are benefits but also drawbacks to playing online, it all depends on your group, and you may find if you just do it and don't overthink it as being some greater challenge that you have a better and easier time solo because you aren't having to pull the weight of yourself as well as two frenchmen with no armour skills that keep placing small barrel bomb+s on the monster and blowing everyone else away. Edit: Oh yeah, and on the topic of watching videos to learn weapons, there is a little bit of obscure tech that I've learned from watching videos, but I've only ever learned it from watching Japanese videos (though I've sometimes noticed it in western TAs later) and it usually only concerns monsters, not weapons. I've only learned one bit of weapon-specific tech this way, which is that in 4U (it doesn't work in XX as far as I can tell, or the timing is much harder; I don't have World but it probably doesn't work there either) if you press X immediately after forward+B while sprinting with a lance you execute an aerial finisher without actually leaving the ground, allowing you to execute it much faster and mount very easily (on some monsters; others can only be mounted if you hit parts that are high in the air), which I learned from a japanese video about lancing stygian zinogre.
