Great overview! And thanks for mentioning on pairing with the Mi Home app first before Apples Home kit! May I also suggest that background music could be turned down a little as it’s competing with your voice. Overall great info vid!

Thanks, and I'll take your comments about the level of the music on board - sometimes difficult to judge.

Thanks for the review, very helpful. However I feel like the bgm is too loud

I agree. It has been a learning curve, but subsequent videos are a lot better I think.

Is it necessary to add the lamp to the Mi Home app before adding to Home app in iPhone?
@homekitnews5 жыл бұрын
If you only want to use it with HomeKit, then you can go ahead and add it to the Apple Home app directly without adding it to Mi Home. You can use the Yeelight app if you want instead of the Mi home app, but either way, you'll need one of these apps for any potential firmware updates.

@@homekitnews why the fuck does a fucking lamp need a firmware update lmfao

great video!

I have this lamp for a year now and it has been excellent. My only complain is that all three articulation points are kind of loose and wobble so the lamp does not sit perfectly straight. I do not know if it is specific to my lamp as it was the only one the shop had at the time and it was a show piece. Maybe someone who has it can help me.

The one I have here is still going strong, although I don’t move the joints too often.
@gallahant2 жыл бұрын
@@homekitnews I think mine might have a loose bolt especially at the base joint. Unfortunately I don't see a way of disassembling it without breaking it as the base seems press fitted.

Outstanding video! How on Earth do we nkow which Mijia/Aqara/Xiaomi products work with the Aqara hub?!
@homekitnews5 жыл бұрын
only devices that use Zigbee and need a hub will work with HomeKit via the Aqara gateway, essentially. Obviously, in the case of this lamp, it's already HomeKit compatible and uses wifi to connect, so the bridge isn't required.

Do you have to buy a UK adapter?
@homekitnews3 жыл бұрын
I believe it only comes with a Type A 2-Pin plug (US/China), so you would need an adaptor for U.K. sockets. However, if you can find the right kind of adaptor with the same specs with a U.K. plug, it should be fine, as the barrel connector seems fairly common.
@spazmoidectomorf62093 жыл бұрын
@@homekitnews I recently checked the specs and it's 14w 240v that means it needs around 17A if I'm not wrong. I can't seem to find a plug with those specs. Do you have any available or recommend any?

Can i set this lamp with a dimming time function like everyday at 22:00 hours the lamp's brightness goes down to 10%? And throughout the day it stays at 100%?
@homekitnews3 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can create an automation to do that in either the Home app, Yeelight app or Mi Home app quite easily.
@youtuber-4523 жыл бұрын
@@homekitnews Great channel! Would that also work with the older version Xiaomi Mi Desk Lamp 1S?
@homekitnews3 жыл бұрын
@@youtuber-452 yes, it’s possible with pretty much any smart lamp I’d say. It just depends on what app you prefer to use for the automation.

Hi, you can currently buy it from GearBest, who ship internationally - the link is in the description above.

HomeKit News and Reviews But the price is about double at the GearBest.
@homekitnews5 жыл бұрын
@@26sankalpahumagain93 Yes, but it seems to be the only option right now, and this is fairly common for many Xiaomi ecosystem products sold on third party stores. You're not going to find anything close to the same price as China unless they release these in other regions unfortunately.
