Just bought one second hand yesterday. I was actually checking out a small fry burn unit and was sorely disappointed. The owner happened to have a super crunch box, so when I tried it through my rig (my rig is a point to point hand wired 50 watt plexi run through a 1 x 12 Bogner ported cab and a 2005 Mahogany body American strat), I was shocked at how good it sounded. A bit more aggressive than my Wampler Pinnacle Deluxe distortion pedal, but a lot more versatile and definitely within the boutique level of distortion pedals.

All overdrives disortions and fuzzs should clean up when guitar volume is lowered this is the new standard.

When i play my super crunch box, it lits red from inside of the pedal through the presence knob. Can anyone tell me whats wrong..? Overloading?

Nothing is wrong with it. There's an LED inside that's used as a clipping diode. That's what lights up.

Its better than the Angry Charlie V2. Ive owned the JHS V1, V2, V3, and the AT version. This Mi Audio Super Crunchbox is everything I wanted from the V2 ( my favorite version of the Angry Charlie ) but better. Works much better with Strats and single pickups. I love it.. its an amazing brown sound high gain Marshal amp like pedal and ive went through 25-30 similar pedals looking for the best.. I think ive finally found it. I hated the original Crunchbox but they hit it out of the park with the Super.

I recently bought the Super Crunch Box, Im thinking of returning it as for me it lacks a little bit in the low end. Wish it had a bit more bass or we could adjust it.

Yeah the Charlie is a clone but tbh (and I hate to say this because I am an Aussie) JHS did improve on the overall character of the pedal. I like the Timmons model.

Yup! Any martial based amp in the box with low gain can do the trick
