Mia Griesel wins the Bronze medal at the 2024 World Youth Championships!

At the 2024 World Youth Championships in Helsingborg (Sweden), Mia won the Bronze medal in the Under 19 girls’ singles’ event! Congratulations, Mia! In the video, you can see the top highlights of the quarterfinal and the semifinal.

Wow! If anyone had said before, Mia would take a singles’ medal, I would definitely not have believed it. This was an outstanding achievement by the German who defied all odds to make it to the semifinal where she only narrowly missed out on the final. There were a few more chances to make it 3:3 in the sixth game where she led most of the game but it does not matter in the end because there is no doubt that she can be very content with her performance! Congrats to an awesome tournament - congratulations on the Bronze medal, Mia!!

In der Tat! Dazu noch im Doppelwettbewerb und in der U15-Altersklasse insgesamt drei weitere Bronzemedaillen machen diese Jugend-WM zur erfolgreichsten für den Deutschen Tischtennis Bund überhaupt!

Sehr gut! Mit was für einem Belag spielt Mia auf der Vorhand? Sie spielt mit der roten Seite Vorhand, macht aber ihre Vorhandaufschläge mit der schwarzen Seite, und scheint auch mit der Vorhand sehr gerade / mit wenig Spin zu spielen. Ist das ein Antitop? Oder kurze Noppen?
