My childhood home address was 12564 SW. 27th Street. We had a large corner lot on a canal. We boarded our horses at a stable in horse country (off Sunset). I lived in that house from 1966 to 1978. My dad bought the house for around $18,000.00 and added on a rec room, a master bedroom and a 2 car garage, In the eighties my husband and I had an apartment in Milton Manor in Perrine.

Wow that sounds amazingly cool! Perrine was bad when i worked there. There was this lady on flakka who would attack cars daily and scream her head off while begging.

This is my area! Born and raised in this part of Miami, West Kendall. Will agree that the whole SW side of Miami is beautiful, clean, tropical, and the landscaping along with the palm trees just make for a great atmosphere! The only issue is that it’s far from everything such as Brickell and Downtown, where the jobs areand the traffic can get bad if you want to get anywhere at times. Pros and cons to everything, but overall a great area!

Kewl, thanks guys the main road your driving on looks a bit familiar back when I lived in Fort Lauderdale I did service work at every 7-11 store in Dade Broward and Palm beach counties.

Yes, that area is gorgeous, less crazy than Miami but close enough to everything. Anyone who says the Cuban or Latino areas are less desirable are wrong, these people believe in FREEDOM and the opportunities they have by coming to Florida. Cubans helped build this area into a wonderful city, just like the gays are building Key West. All of Florida is unique and rich with culture. We are a unique state🌴

My family lives in SW Miami. It's not relaxed, but very well kept. Clean, lawns kept up, there is some crime but not terrible like in NW Miami. I would still never live there for the high cost of living. Also. I'm not bilingual. I'm a white American born in this country. So that's a disadvantage. Weather is also too hot. No seasonal changes. I'm by no means a tropical guy...yet I was raised in it and not by choice. I prefer North FL despite all the ignorant hicks. Even Central FL is a vast improvement of lifestyle over Miami/Broward.

Miami is fun if your absolutely loaded and dont have to commute daily
@thedirtybubble96132 жыл бұрын
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS To be honest with you, I don't see what's so "fun" about it. Everytime I go down there I'm like... what is here to do? Miami is no Orlando. Wnywood. Is that where the people hang out at these days? I'm not a party person so I never go to South Beach and have no reason to. Downtown Miami is still a dump.

I would also check out Miami Lakes and the ZIP Code of 33015, 33016, and 33018. And if you visit country club of Miami you can go through my neighborhood of country Lake Manor which is a nice neighborhood for first time homebuyers to today’s Miami standards. It has a park with a lake that’s open to the public. It’s close to the turnpike as well. And if you go into Miami Lakes you might be able to go through the mid century modern neighborhoods of that area and you can go through loch Lamond which is a beautiful beautiful golf course neighborhood filled with nothing but luxury homes. Just across the street is main street which is a beautiful 1970s 19 eighties lifestyle center which has great restaurants, including this Nicaraguan restaurant called El Novio and there’s this other place called Pizza scene, and another place that’s an Asian sushi buffet. And then across the street from that on 67th Ave. is Millard ale House which has really good mozzarella sticks and salmon. Delicious. Miami Lakes also has a great system of parks. And if you’re in the Miami Lakes area you can check out this neighborhood that I used to live in called Palm Springs North. Beautiful but expensive neighborhood now.

Metro Zoo is close to Richmond Heights. Actually that area is called Three Lakes. Cutler Ridge is further south and further to the east near US1.

Thats my old hood,I miss it and love visiting but I dont miss the traffic,the 30-45 min to downtown from there is without traffic.Weekdays from that part of West Kendall to downtown during rush hour its 1.5-2 hours.I do feel its starting to resemble Hialeah more and more everyday but I still miss it and would go back as long as I dont have to deal with rush hour traffic.I cirrently live a 45 second walk to a Starbucks,I dont drink coffee so its meaningless.

Yup, Florida, wanna go and sit in your rear garden...under a tea bag?? Or be forced to replace your roof every 10 years? It is currently prohibitively expensive to live there. New Floridians are just realising what a bad move it really is, and moving out to a cheaper state...lol
