I've have to thank you guys for this review (and mentioning the game a lot in the top 10 lists). Someone gave me this game years ago (end of 2006 beginning 2007, doesn't really matter) and I only played it twice. Since that last play it had been gathering dust while I would never suggest to play it. Since your review I've taken it out again and really started to enjoy this game. So thanks. P.S. the story, either book or serie really adds to the flavor of the game in my opinion.

Another great game that just does not lose it's charm! I am enjoying these 'Prime Time' Miami Dice shows, but lets face it, I enjoy watch Miami Dice anytime! Thanks for all the work and time you put into these, and for the steady camera. ;)

At 7:31, Tom illustrates that new craftsmen are covering your old ones. But that's not right, is it? I was under the assumption, as the rulebook says, that you can have up to five craftsmen at any given time.

This is my favourite worker placement game, I like it a bit more than Stone Age because there are some more options to place your workers, and it is not as heavy as people use to say, I find it at the same level of complexity than Stone Age or Fresco and easier than Agrícola.

Can't quite make it out, did at 9:40 Tom say that the game has lots of theme? Or doesn't? Knowing Tom's a big fan of theme, I was very surprised that the review had no overview, it went straight into mechanics and rules, and there was no mention of any cathedral until more than half-way through the video.

The intro makes you wonder why Zee didn't get a character in Nothing Personal

The game is great, but it *really* shines with the expansion. It is one of the few worker placement games that can scale up to 5 (or 6, but not as good) people and still be relatively fast. Hands down the best 5 player worker placement game there is when you use the expansion. Without the expansion it is still decent, but I think other worker placement games have sweet spots with fewer people (like Le Havre with 3 or Agricola with 3 or 4).

I read the book and it is a bit of work to read the book because of the many characters and the decades of their lives that are followed. A mysterious event may or may not have happened and events in many lives unfold in a different way because of the mysterious event that may or may not have happened. Characters are born, not all the characters, and reach adulthood under the shadow ir the powers that be. The book shows the political and religious power struggles and reveals how the economic development occurs and how that affects specific families.

alright I just got a copy of this. I have seen out of print games become very pricey and you guys talk about it all the time so I figured I better get it while I can.

Might I suggest that if you include Zee in your future Miami Dice episodes, you also include him on the reviewer introduction at the beginning of the videos, along with Tom and Sam. Unless Eric's fee is too steep for a new voice-over...

The book is great, and although I have not played the game, judging by this review, it's clear that the story, setting and characters are integrated very well. I would forewarn you that, in the book, Follett does have a tendency to linger on certain sexually explicit & violent details during a few passages. I'm no prude, but they felt unnecessarily exploitive and pornographic in a way which was distracting. In some ways, it felt like Game of Thrones minus the fantasy elements and rooted in historical fact.

Great looking game, I would buy it if it wasn't semi-rare... Paying 130-200CAD to buy a game i've never played before is a bit risky. If it came back in print I would snatch it up fast

Mental note: check BGG before watching Miami Dice. If it's out of print, I'm wasting my time. Honestly, the more Dice Tower covers games that I can't easily, reasonably or sensibly purchase, the less I'm inclined to watch the episodes.

+Carl Frodge It isn't. It feels fun at first, but you're almost completely at the mercy at how your master builders hit the table. You can get completely hosed and there isn't that much you can do to mitigate it.
