I liked how you arena expands and takes more space on a track. But can you expand it more than just once? Looks interesting and has a bit of ticket to ride feel (shows - tickets).

You can expand it up to 2 times. And it is necessary to do so if you want to put on the largest shows, which is often the only way you have a chance to win.

I thought it was your best score over the five turns that counted towards victory, not necessarily the last turn presentation. Am I wrong?

You are correct (or at least that is how I was taught and have always played). If your highest show was first, that is what scores.

Technically that is true. Tom was speaking generally as he often does. Typically your fifth show will end up being your best score if things go your way. I often find it helpful to stay in last place for a few rounds (and collect a free token from the leader in each phase 5) then put everything i have into my final show.

This looks like you could easily overlay a Sports Stadium theme on this with different sports and shows vs fighting, etc.

I initially saw this as 'Ticket to Ride: The Next Generation' as you are accumulating resources in a similar fashion. I wanted to see how my daughters could handle the auctioning. I found the auctioning can really detract from the fun of the game - and I can't really tell why it does, just that the energy in the room deflated as we got to the auction. I think that this game CAN be great, but I think it needs a specific group to work well and will otherwise feel flat.

1. Criticizing a game for some people being over-analyzing types is just silly. That'd be as if I intentionally ran my car off the road and blamed the car. 2. You need X, Y Z of different types because different shows are, well... different. Some shows might be a gladiator-battle, some might be gladiator-battles with animals, some might be animals vs. animals and so on. I think it makes perfect sense.

Well now that you formulated yourself a little more clearly, I agree with you on the first point. But this has little to do with people being overanalyzing, it's just that the game forces you to sit and think for too long. There are a good few possible solutions to it, you could always buy a cheap kitchen/oven clock and put it to like two minutes. When time runs out, you have to be done trading. But I still see your point. As for pt2... You make it sound like a bad thing... O.o
