I would love to see Xavier Lucas come to Miami. A gifted, physical specimen with plenty of speed and experience at both CB and Safety. I believe Miami was his last official visit last year before he committed at Wisconsin, and this would be a homecoming of sorts in more ways than one. Go, Canes!!

@jackcaughey8631 Miami moved FROM the Orange Bowl to Hard Rock Stadium because the OB building had cracks in structural support walls, could not be repaired and had to be torn down. I'm almost sure that if he does not break his arm and "Tyler Van Picks" doesn't come into the game, that FSU does not go undefeated last season. Not to mention the few snaps that we have seen him...the training wheels were on. I can't wait to see what Emory can do given more starts.

Mr. Padron is spot on with his evaluation of Mr. Williams. I'm so much more comfortable with having him come in and then build the offense around his skills - which I think are very, very good. I don't want my quarterback running around out there - that's how they get hurt.

If I hear, or read people say we need to ride with the current QB room... Same sentiment. Emory MIGHT be ready for the big stage, but right now we don't know that for certain nor does he have any legit competition in the room to push him. Absolutely need another QB from the portal.

Mendoza is a good QB, but he's not really an upgrade over Emory. He may be a little quicker, but not much. UM should only go for a bigger upgrade.

Who would you replace him with ? I really think it had more to do with personal than the coach . Tackling and poor angles HAS NOTHING TO WITH SCHEMES. You fix that and so much is fixed with the defense. Last year everyone wanted Dawson fired due to personal and everyone praised Guidry. Reason is personal kam kitchens knew how to cover offense and call the right plays for corners and James Williams knew tackling angles made schemes look really good. On the other side you had Tvd and jacurri brown making Dawson schemes look like crap and questioning his coaching ability

Last year everyone wanted to give Guidry a raise and fire Dawson. LOL!! Guidry didn't have the personnel in the secondary he needed this year which IS partially his fault but he deserves another year. He finished Top 5 last year for best DC in the Power 5. If the D doesn't improve I'm w you on him getting fired.

Thats mostly on the players with some responsibility on coaching. Guidry worked miracles 2023 i expect a nice bounce back 2025.

Leaving corners on an island all year was not what his kids could do well. The Coach has to do what his kids do best, no matter how bad the talent is. Guidry shoved his favorite schemes down his players throat. He needed to adjust, not the kids.

I think Poff wanted to play and not sit, I don't blame him. He was brought in here as an insurance policy for Emory's injury, before we got Cam Ward. Once we got Ward and Emory got healthy...There was really no place for Poffenberger

I truly think that Emory Williams will have a quicker release than Cam Ward did. Cam did way too much BGH. As much as that was a strength for Cam Ward, it also became his weakness during big games at time. Against tougher opponents, fast 1qt start, lull 1/2 of 1st to HT and gets hot 1/4 into 3rd QT to the end of game. Pattern.

I think they went all in on offense first (specially OL & QB1) and thought they had gone all in on defensive line too. We all expected the secondary to be an issue. I think the team and the fans knew that room was waiting for a tune up this coming offseason. As is the Linebacker core. It sucks that they could not muster enough as a unit to get us closer to the ultimate goals with Cam.

Maybe u get rid of the DC and they get better. We need to get bigger at DT. Just know averaging 44 pts. a game will be a thing of the past. Probably more in the 31 to 35 pt range. If the dee flips then 8 wins I can see, maybe 9 but if dee reverts back 5-7 to 7-5.

DT was fine! The big runs were mostly on the outside because no Dline gap and edge control, LB lack instincts and look slow, safeties lack instincts and look slow as well!

Miami needs another QB to not only push Emory, but also take the starter spot if Emory plays like cheeks. The reality of the matter is that Emory could just as easily be a bust as he could be a star. We won't know until he gets out there, but right now he needs someone to make him earn that starter spot, and the QB room doesn't currently have anyone like that now.

Winning. That's the first, second, and third most important thing in the sport. The transfer portal absolutely helps add missing pieces for a successful team. Williams can be great, but right now we have nothing to show he will be. On top of that Miami has no legit competition for the starter role. Need to bring in someone to put pressure on him, and compete with him for starter.

Kudos to the Gators, they have the better trajectory as a program with a stud QB they got from Highschool and developed in the program rather than promise Highschool kids things and then always look in the portal to replace them... Shameful, and I honestly don't know why a parent would want to send their kids out of Highschool to my beloved UM... Thankfully I think FSU is a mess, so we might not be the third out of the big schools but by far behind Florida now and in the future, that Tulane team would have scored 50+ on our D and they were held to 8 by the Gators.
