Pre bowl, Mario same record as Al Golden year 3. Mario has one more loss and same wins as Manny when fired. Best offense in school history, 1,000 yard rusher, all time receiver record holder, best qb to play at Miami and we didn't even make it to the conference championship. Cam, leading rusher, top 5 receivers gone, and we have Florida and Notre Dame out of conference + travel to SMU. Thats 2 playoff teams + UF. WTF makes you think that next season will be better?

No, I don't think next year will be better but that's okay. You can't realistically think any team can go 10-2 or better each year in today's college environment. That's not reality today. But, you can't also try to build from the portal every year. Recruit the best HS players you can and grow from there. That's the reality of it all.

There is no quarterback "dilemma." We have two very good -- or at least everyone said they were when they were recruited -- quarterbacks in the house now. Yes, it may take a year to bring them up to speed, but that's football. We can't keep relying on the portal to build a team. If that is the going forward solution then it will become impossible to ever recruit any talent -- who'd want to come to the U if they know they won't play? Grow up people! Accept that the can't go 10-2 or better every year and just enjoy being a fan.

The issue with one year eligibility transfer QB's is that if you fail to win a championship during their tenure window, the drop off the following year is like a black hole. (That's why it was so crucial to get the defense right while we had Cam Ward!!!) QB is a position that I would like a multi year guy for the sake of stability. (My fingers are crossed for Luke Nickel to succeed here) It's hard to build or sustain a dynasty with one year rentals.

Luke Nickel as starting QB. Kosar started as a freshman and led us to our first National Title. He only lost one game and that was game one against the Gators. Don’t rent a possibility,develop a proven winner.

Beck doesn't have to do anything. Simply declaring verbally to the NFL draft is a meaningless gesture. That's what Cam Ward did. Beck would have to sign and submit paperwork by January 15th to become eligible for the NFL draft. When the paperwork is submitted and January 15th passes, a player is no longer eligible for college football. If anything, it's a move by Beck to drive up NIL money. He's a low draft prospect at this point with his poor 2024 season and his injury. I wouldn't overpay for him. I think his skills are suspect.

Mario made a huge mistake in not firing Guidry mid-season. He screwed up our chances at the ACC Chip and the playoffs. That has also affected our ability to get certain transfer players. The delays in hiring a new DC...has certainly hurt our roster so far.

Let me help you out. Firing a DC mid-season is more detrimental than keeping a DC that's struggling. The only thing that could've been done different would've been to openly announce a new DC search right after the CFP 12 was locked in.
