I will tell you the play of the game, but it was not a play made in this game, but made a huge difference in this game. The previous week Clemson played Virginia, and Dabo was frustrated because the Clemson Defense was not playing to their potential. Clemson was giving up way too many plays to an inferior Virginia team. Then Andrew Booth made an unbelievable 1 hand interception in the endzone to prevent a Virginia touchdown. The players were all celebrating the amazing play, but not Dabo, because he was still pissed. He told the thrilled defense players he can't celebrate a miraculous catch in the endzone to prevent a touchdown when they had been giving up too many yards all day. In Dabos mind they should not be defending the endzone. I do believe that is why Clemsons defense came out in the Miami game with something to prove. Dabo tries to motivate his players to play to a standard, regardless of the opponent. They were not doing so against Virginia on defense, and had he reacted like all the players did over the miracle catch, Dabos point would have been lost. Dabo said something like, make that play on the 50 and he will celebrate with them. Dabo does not get mad at a player because some speedster on the other team is just faster and beats the Clemson defender. He gets mad if the Clemson defender is faster and just gives up on the play because they have a lead. Dabo expects them to play to a Clemson standard, if they lose to a more talented team, they just congratulate them and try harder. Not playing to a standard can get a player benched. Dabo is always looking at the long game. The most important play in the Miami game was that play in the Virginia game.

ESPN in general loves the SEC teams, so what?? Who cares what team an announcer or channel likes if your team is WINNING?? Clemson is marginalized every year. If we focused on that, we'd be crying in the corner instead of shining the 2 Natty trophies we've won. Fans need to focus on what matters - the GAME, not the announcer. Urban Myers didn't offer the Herbstreit twins. I've heard Ryan Day is going to offer the younger Herbstreit kid. Face it, the Herbstreit kids are for PR status and not the game winning piece. Happy Clemson took the Herbstreit twins, but if they'd gone to Ohio State, okay. I can genuinely say okay because my youngest son must have been dropped as a baby. He graduated from Ohio State in May and paid his tuition.
