Love that Intro! Honestly who ever made that has some Talent! and the whole process of the Academy looks great, I am not from the USA, I live in the UK, but I could see my self enjoying going through something like that, I work in Security right now, but I need to up my game, and do something worthwhile while I am young (26 years old now), so fair play to all of you who have gone through that to do something worthwhile with your lives! It is good to be able to make a real difference, to the society around you and It must feel like a real sense of accomplishment once you are able to go on Patrol for the first time as a Police Officer, Good luck to you all and take care.

...If you had served in the US Military you would know that there are guys who made it through boot camp that are border line retards...when I was in the Army in the early 80 s you could have a 25 on the fucking ASVAB and serve in the infantry...to get in the military for a lot of jobs all you need is a pulse and be able to let the doc at MEPS put his finger in ur ass....to join a good police dept like LAPD or Las Vegas Metro you are vetted big time and have to be the best of the best....I know plenty of ex military guys who could not get hired as a cop.....

Thanks captain obvious. It better be. Military training has to be more rigorous than police training. One's training future soldiers, the other civil servants. If police training was more stressful and rigorous we'd have a problem.

Nice of you that you care. I highly appreciate it. But in Germany, in order to work in law enforcement, you have to go through the police academy, no matter which agency you would like to get employed by. Every State in Germany has their own policies about who can and who can not join the evaluation process and you get employed by the different States, not by departments or agencies like in the US. Some states in Germany dont even allow one to join if they are older than 24 years. Sad but true (from my POV) there is massive discrimination because of ones age ;-(

But yeah here where I'm from (IL, USA) all the local agencies in our county train at one academy building, but federal agencies have their own training system. Here the age limit is 34 or something, but I'm sure you can become a dispatcher or something of that sort.

@Solas O'Dimm it’s not because they are out of shape it’s because now days a lot of agency’s wear plate carriers which are 20 pounds and with the gear on them adds an extra 10 pounds so it’s hard to run when there is an extra 30 pounds on your body. Let’s say you raced another person, both of you are 130 pounds but you have to wear an extra 30 pounds. Who is most likely gonna win? ( the other person🤭)

Recvd my BSN in Nursing and have been practicing in a hospital, very high volume stress for over 25 years now and am burnt out. Interested in being a police officer. Is that a realistic goal? @@Nibblesgamer4567 absolutely it's a realistic goal. I tried out for about 10 different departments and I always asked the same question, which was "am I too old?" Their reply was always, "never to old to make a difference ". I suggest starting a workout routine of running, push ups and situps to start. The process is long and frustrating, but hang in there, because it's worth it!

I went through army basic in 2008 at ft Benning, had two combat tours, spent time in leadership positions, nco academy, etc, and served a total of 6 years in the Army. Aside from the physical stress, I feel like this wouldn't really phase me lol. At least the yelling. I understand the yelling and the purpose behind it all. I've been considering doing this. Had I stayed in the army much longer, I could've went to drill sergeant school myself. I already had the military experience required. This looks like it would be a good experience.
