Florida State’s case is probably sunk in court. If the only concern was revenue sharing and travel, that’s a decent legal argument. That’s all Clemson and UNC mentioned in their legal documents to the court. But that’s not what Florida State did. They specifically targeted SMU and its “lack of pedigree” and also accused them of dragging down the ACC’s competitiveness. Now, FSU is 1-8 and SMU is making a run to the CFP as a first-year team, which has never been done before in the history of college football. That effectively kills FSU’s legal argument. Not to mention, they constantly complain about revenue despite thinking they can go independent , which will be their only option. After this disaster of a season, the SEC and Big Ten won’t touch them. They’re effectively stuck in a conference they don’t want anymore.

Piit/Penn State fan.. Penn State ALWAYS loses to Ohio State..they really stayed true to form. I was happy Pitt did so well for so long. SMU truly crushed us. Like the channel host says, Pitts only chance at the ACC championship game is winning out and a Miami loss.. mathematically possible but not very likely.. Miami SMU will be a good game and they both should make the playoffs

You're missing the fact that Miami still has to play Wake Forest and SMU has to play Virgina. If either of them lose those respective games, Clemson has beaten Wake and Virgina. That would give Clemson a win over a common opponent, so Miami or SMU doesn't hold a two game advantage over Clemson due to that possibility.

Also, that’s not the case. Since Louisville is ranked higher in the ACC than those other teams they would be considered first when looking at common opponents. The tiebreaker is total record, which would be 1-1 for both of them. Then you would start with the highest ranked and work your way down.

@frankcristell692 18 minutes ago You know the team that basically pushed the Crimson Tide around for 3 plus quarters in Tuscaloosa (USF), Miami beat them 50-15 in Tampa, with a fired up home crowd. I’d argue that was a complete game, as Miami weathered the storm in the first half ( trick plays and USF taking chances and pulling out everything in their arsenal), and being in a shootout at Louisville, which Miami covered the spread and win by 7, and the narrative was that it was a bad, or unimpressive win, but Notre Dame bests Louisville in South Bend by the same 7 point margin, and it’s a good win. Miami boat races Florida in Gainesville, and the narrative is that Florida sucks, not an impressive win, Tennessee escapes Florida in Knoxville, in overtime, ( and Gators truly could’ve and should’ve won that game, they outplayed Tennessee that day) but the narrative is good quality SEC win for Tennessee. I’m not saying that Miami has been clicking on all cylinders every game, ( it bothered me how they lost focus after being up 14-0 vs Duke, they definitely need to keep their focus sometimes) but to say they have not played complete game since game one, is just not true. I can argue they played a complete game vs FSU, basically won by 29, just gave up an “oh by the way “ touchdown with seconds remaining.
