Basics- Always run your boat and give it a good warm-up to ensure it can start without issues before you even think of pulling it off your property all you need is a garden hose, ensure the drain plug is in and secure before towing it to the ramp also before you tow it off the property, ensure it's secured to the trailer properly that your rollers are in good shape if you have rollers, Check That all your securing lines to/for the dock or trailer are in good shape that the towstraps and hook from the trailer to the boat are also in good shape as well as tiestraps in good condition, check the securing chains from the trailer to the towing truck are in good shape, your electrical wires from the trailer to the adaptor to the rear of the truck are in good shape, check all of your lights, ensure your license plate is attached to the trailer ( some owners such as myself remove it from the trailer and put it safely away somewhere in the truck until we/I have retured to the dock to avoid trailer theft I then attach it useing butterfly nuts ( a good trailer wheel lock is also adviseable while your trailer and truck sit unattended onshore you can't always trust that the authorites are around the protect your property evennif there are cameras,) check the tires for the tred, tire pressure...Brake fluid level of your trailer and truck if you use brake fluid in the trailer and you depend on it...( not everyone does and some people eliminate it on the trailer.) Carry life savers onboard, a dockhook, a collapsable shovel-like a military shovel ( in the event you end up on a sandbar at low tide you may be javing fun for hours.amd the tides have changes several times by then) fire extinguisher, a tool bag , flares, an airhorn. extra gasoline (if possable and you have the storage space for it) a Jumper battery, and this is only a few of the things you should always plan to carry aside from your toys...scuba gear, spear fishing, snorkel, fishing gear/ traps ,floatation toys. .ect.This is for your own safety and ease of use at the dock. There are No Repair Stations facilties or Gas Stations in the middle of the ocean or waterway and this advise may save your life someday. Subscribe to a realiable tow service for both your vehicle and boat such as Triple-A & Seatow Services, keep and know emergency services for the Coast Guard ex. Energency channels for your boats CB and ensure it is near that appliance and easy to read. This may not apply to all boats ir boaters but is helpfull advise when you have a large one that weighs a few tons and requires manhandeling both onland and in the water more so when you do it alone. 😎🇺🇸

This Regal Commodore (27-28’) probably weighs 8300#. The truck can tow 5500-8000#, depending on how it is set up. So, not too far off, but definitely pushing the limits. I towed my Sea Ray Sundancer 290, 10,700# dry, with my 2007 Avalanche rated at 6500# towing. It was tough to get out of the water, but I only had to go about a mile to the house, once per year or so, to redo the bottom paint, and inspect all the inlets, screens, etc. The hardest part was not the tow, but getting it off the trailer, on to blocks in the driveway. That’s a 2 day ordeal each time. Then a weeks work, then 2 days getting it back on the trailer. LOL. MY next boat will be smaller, and easier to tow. One that doesn’t have to stay in the water for a year at a time.

There was a line of boaters waiting to launch when we arrived before dawn. The people launching their boats could've easily made many episodes for these videos. It was full daylight by the time it was our turn. Both men got the boat ready and loaded long before it was our turn. I stayed in the truck to keep us moving along with the line. Old guy #1 backed the boat down while old guy #2 piloted the boat. As soon as it floated I unhooked it from the trailer, #2 signaled #1 and he immediately pulled the trailer out to go park it. Old guy #2 fired up the boat and pulled away from the dock to wait. When old guy #1 showed up, #2 pulled up to the dock and we got it. It was obvious that these two old guys had done this hundreds, if not thousands of times before!
