@@joeblow9850 His boat was on autopilot. His friends were so far behind that if he fell overboard they would have more than likely drove right passed him in the water while they continued to follow the empty vessel. I've spent enough time on the open ocean to know that you can't over prepare. When you're out there, your decisions can decide if you make it home alive or not. That ocean shows no mercy.

Thank you so much for making this video. When I seen the preview I was praying you went through the main entrance of Bimini and actually filmed it. One of my greatest memories with my dad when I was just 15 years old and we took our 25-ft Wellcraft Nova and made the crossing coming out of Fort Lauderdale. I distinctly remember coming into the same entrance that you did and seeing the starfish lying on the sand under the boat coming to the inlet. I pleaded with my dad to stop so I can swim down and get it says you'll never make it it's 25 ft deep right there. It looked like it was only four foot of water. I remember like it was yesterday although it sure was nice to see it again. I'm 45 now and my dad's been gone for 6 years. Wow 30 years ago. The beautiful clear blue water of Bimini.... It's on my bucket list! I've got a 30-ft Sea Ray Sundancer and hopefully one day I'll get to go back. Again thank you for the video you just don't know how much it meant to me to be able to see the place again.

It’s safe if you are in a good boat and the weather is good. I have seen jet skis and small jet boats make it so yes it’s safe to cross. I am new to a “large” center console boat & fishing in the ocean. I can not for the life of me understand why people ride with no kill lanyard. I mean a life vest maybe. There’s nothing to stop the boat if you go overboard. To me it’s a stupid decision not to wear one. I will just assume you have the man over board system. 😂 Great video other than that. And yes I have every right to say something. It could be me and my family that YOUR boat kills when you are not on board.

That being said I’m unfamiliar with the weather there. For the crossing, what kind of wind is optimal. Obviously no wind, but what about wind direction? Does a south or north wind cause a wet ride, west wind a rough following sea? What month is usually calm? Are there any forums where a group of people plan to go out at the same time? Any feed back is awesome and greatly appreciated. Thanks for the awesome fun videos! Keep it up!

Yes Robert as long as you plan your trip and go with good weather conditions (less then 8mph wind) I'm sure you will make it just fine. Its not as far as you might think when you actually go.
