mic comparison: Schoeps CMC6MK4 vs. Austria Audio CC8

I loved both mics for different reasons. The CC8 sounds much fuller and closer. Bit like how it would sound from the player perspective if that makes sense? While the Schoeps sounds more like how I imagined sitting infront of it. Very focused. Also beautiful playing. It helps really well

The cc8’s are amazing… just a well balanced sound. The Schoeps are a bit to crisp to my ear.

Transient is so fast and beautiful in CMC! Makes everything so present! I would say Oc8 is beautiful if I did not hear CMC just before it. CMC won in most fragments played for me. OC8 is very sweet and highs are very classy, but this presence of Schoeps just dominates so much!!

CC8 like most SDC sounds a bit electronic you can tell there's a mic being used - the Schoeps has a way of becoming almost invisible - like your just in the room with the instrument. Love MK4's particularly.

There is noise on the right channel of the CC8. Aside from that they are nice sounding mics. I'd still prefer the "there-ness" of the Schoeps. It really sounds like the pler is in front of me (aside from the mics being so far apart)

wow ....wonderful playing, both mics are great, i like the AA more for this application because the guitar sounds smoother with the AA, but the transient respond from the Schoeps are fantastic

Both sound very good. However, the CC8 sounds like it has a bit of a wider rage. Unfortunately audio over KZbin isn't an exact representation. Did you use only one microphone per recording? Love your guitar playing too.

Yes, these Schoeps are awesome. I did the comparison to show how good these Austrian Audio CC18 sound compared with mics that many consider the go-to mic for this application. And in my opinion they do a great job.

Schoeps sounds much more rich and they have a much more natural and open sound! The CC8s almost sound compressed in the dynamics even if there is no processing, strange! :)

Bro - don't use new strings to test mics. There is so much uncontrolled "junk" in the high end it makes both mics sound cheap.
