Retired NYPD Sergeant Eddie Hayes, who served two stints in the Bomb Squad as both an officer and detective from 1985-1993 and Sergeant from 1995-1999 recalls a frightening 1988 incident where a would be suicide bomber successfully detonated one device, killing himself, but still had another bomb strapped to his chest with Hayes and crew tasked with defusing it.
