That was great Caitlin. Aunt Ro and I were reminiscing for 2 hours after the podcast ended. You are so much like your dad and your dad was so much like your Grandpa Paul. Dad, Grandma Sheila, Grandpa Paul, Uncle Peter, Aunt Ro and I are proud of you, and all your accomplishments in life. Thank you Mike for including our family in your program. Back The Blue💙Dogs Rule

Don’t forget the NYPD AIR/SEA RESCUE with TWO divers were the first on the scene. I was one of them. I think I pulled more FDNY Rescue out of the water than passengers. Keep the facts straight.

Excellent show. You couldn’t ask for better insight historically, or contemporaneously than what Chief Sheehan has provided. He has the real experience and genuine care for those who serve. Great interview. Thanks for having him on.

100% proof the mainstream media is gov propaganda. They went from "missile!" to "oh wait it wasn't a missile and if you saw a missile, you really didn't see that missile that you just saw." Yep, this happened.

One of the reasons for radio encryption by the NYPD is privacy/officer safety. I was on a barricade job in the 34 that had been going on for hours. As ESU was formulating, preparing a plan of entry over the tac channel as I walked through the lobby to get into position, grab some equipment. I can hear the conversation being blasted in the lobby for the Pct cops/EMS/civilians in the lobby over a radio. It was coming from an EMS SUPERVISORS Radio. That’s dangerous on a couple of levels to the cops. NYPD should’ve encrypted their radios 20 years ago.

I certainly agree that many comms are very sensitive and should be restricted. Many cites have gone to encryption and offer a delayed web site of active jobs. Thanks for the comment.

NYPD SCUBA are the most incredible divers I’ve ever witnessed operate. I can recall numerous evidence searches in the water where they arrive, get the rundown. Go down and return with an item tossed into the river. I can recall times where it was a person in the water & FDNY Divers had been in the water for a while with no success, and SCUBA shows up, gets the rundown, goes down & comes up within minutes w the victim. Saw that several times. Incredible group of NYPD SPECIALIST..

Hey Mike, great improv and just some 411 about the subway. There are no metal detectors in the subway except for the cops themselves. As for the State PD and National Guard, that’s called smoke and mirrors, back during 911 when the NG was in the subway, their guns weren’t loaded and I can’t see them being loaded now unless the hierarchy changed the rules. The subway is a different animal as compared to the street when it comes to police, there are a whole set of rules specifically for the subway that can be applied to issue summonses and eject people from the system but the problem is, the State PD doesn’t know them and neither do the NG and even worse the NG have no legal police powers ! I’ll probably take some flack for this but I really can’t blame cops for not rushing into dangerous jobs, they can be sued, lose their jobs and pensions and for what, an allegation but the NYPD promoted people to positions that they didn’t earn and they have no idea how to do them and that doesn’t include someone promoted to a management position that should’ve been fired for perjury !

Great episode featuring a man I have admired from afar (specifically Toronto) for years. It is uncanny how he knew after witnessing the plane hitting Tower 1 that it was a terrorist attack, stating that, “…it was aiming toward the building” in his report to Manhattan dispatch. He’s been clear for years that his brother and every other firefighter there knew what they were getting into, and actively chose to go anyway. On top of that, he’s really the reason why we have any footage from inside the towers via the Naudet doc. He could’ve told him to stay put but chose to have him enter-really to keep him close and ultimately safer-and this decision gave us the history of seeing what the FDNY really took on that day. Full admiration. Coming away from that to help the FDNY stay on its feet and fronting their anti-terrorism work.
