I had to rewind the video because I couldn’t believe my ears. My Dad bought a Venue a couple years ago and I was in the market for car so we were out test driving. After taking out a high trim Rav 4, getting back in the Venue was a treat. Better interior styling and ride. It was nice to get confirmation in our impressions. It is a great value and yes a much better car than it needs to be at the price point. Agreed.👍🏻

I had one of these this week as a rental car. Easy maneuverability for getting around in a city I wasn't familiar with. Good visibility.

It is actually a good vehicle because in essence it is not designed for the american market. It is designed for south/south-east asian market which is extremely price sensitive and value sensitive. This is a big mover in those markets because for relatively affordable price you get a ton of features as expected there from a entry level "suv". In the US, people don't really consider anything below a corolla or maybe a civic to be any good because historically they weren't but in the last decade companies like Hyundai have really improved the sub-compact segment.

Haha! I love the AI-generated song for the Venue. I rented a KIA Soul for a weekend, and really liked it. The Hyundai Venue looks pretty good too. I would drive it as a city car or short distances on the highway. BUT... the stylish new 2025 Nissan Kicks looks interesting, and it has all-wheel drive. Maybe that will be the one to wait for?!
@dforrest45032 ай бұрын
I had one as a loaner while my 2021 Kia Soul was getting repaired after hitting a deer. It was all right, but I think the extra room and lower noise levels make me like the Soul quite a bit more. The smaller engine in the Venue means it has to rev a lot more at highway speeds, which is when I noticed the noise the most. Overall I agree it’s better than it needs to be, but I’d definitely stick with my Soul. By the way, your trim recommendations are always on point!
@palebeachbumАй бұрын
I'm glad you shared your insight as a Kia Soul owner who's driven the Venue. The Soul is a little bit bigger than the Venue and it has a larger and more powerful 2.0L 4cyl engine over the Venue's 1.6L 4cyl. Interestingly, the Soul's fuel economy is rated higher. When comparably equipped with the features I'd want, the Soul is only about $700 more expensive and I wouldn't be forced to get a sunroof like in the Venue, which I really don't want. My only grip is that I prefer the design of the Venue.

My mom has a 2022 Hyundai venue SE base model with roughly 45,000 miles on it and it’s been kind of problematic. We keep having touchscreen issues. The car has developed a hesitation upon accelerating from a stoplight or a stop in general and when you let off the gas, it likes to shutter one Hyundai dealership wants us to do a whole bunch of services that the car doesn’t need and the other one doesn’t wanna look at it because they’re not sure if it would be covered under warranty or not and they don’t want us to pay out-of-pocket for a diagnostic fee plus with some other random electrical issues and random morning lights popping up and then going away the next day she isn’t very pleased about the purchase of that vehicle

I am glad that there are economy cars still out there, but often they tend to almost punish you for buying a car so cheap with extremely uncomfortable seats, bumpy rides, poor acceleration from an overworked engine, etc. Glad to hear that the ride feel was actually good in the Venue and almost makes the lower power engine and poorer steering seem tolerable.

How does it feel to go from a $93k Chevy Suburban to a $23k Hyundai Venue? The seats do look wicked cool. Wow, a full-size spare, I didn't know any manufacturers were doing that anymore. Would you say that the Hyundai would be a good starter car?
@AHungryHunky2 ай бұрын
My wife has one and yes I would recommend it as a starter car if you have to have a brand new car. When it came out in 2020 it was the cheapest way to get the latest safety tech, since most used cars at the time lacked things like lane keep assist, emergency braking and cross traffic monitoring. It's an excellent car and it was our choice for a 7 hour drive for vacation over my larger vehicle simply due to the very strong lane keep assist, good fuel milage and other safety features. Set it on cruise on the highway and the car basically drives itself. The one thing it doesnt have that I wish it did was adaptive cruise control.
