And maybe a second bonus reason for the Prologue outselling the Blazer, the Blazer is sold at Chevrolet dealerships by Chevrolet sales staff to Chevrolet customers and all of those factors don’t sound conducive for EV sales. I’m betting your average Honda shopper is more likely to be excited about a BEV and the Honda dealership happy to have them.

I remember when the Chevy Blazer came to the LA Auto Show and the GM reps knew absolutely nothing about it. During the test drive I asked the rep if they were switching from CCS to NACS and she literally said "I don't actually know what that means, I'm usually selling Colorados". Same story from the Cadillac dealer when I tried to buy a Lyriq, or Ford when I was trying to get a Mach E. And this is in SoCal. Literally only VW knew anything about their ID.4s on sale. Wonder how Honda does their EV sales pitch.
@davetravels92733 күн бұрын
Horribly. My Honda dealer really didn't know anything. Every dealership I have been too is absolutely horrible at selling EVs. They only recite the sales pamphlets. I have been to Honda, Nissan, Subaru, Mazda, Kia, Volvo... they have all been horrible and it's clear the staff know nothing. I usually have to educate them. 😂
@junehanzawa51652 күн бұрын
Did you really expect a dealer to know anything? They're nothing but middlemen. They have nothing to do with the manufacturers despite what most people think. Politicians force legacy manufaturers to sell their vehicles only to these middlemen, and not to their customers. They have zero interest in selling you an EV because they need very little to no service.

My biggest issue with the Prologue (and most versions of the Blazer for that matter) is the low nominal voltage of the battery. Not a big deal when charging at home, but an issue on road trips. Unless you have a 350 kW DC Fast Charging station, the car will charge noticeably slower than most of the competition

If it’s like my CR-V, the noise is probably coming from the plastic cover in front of the rearview mirror that conceals the cameras and wiring. There’s just enough space between the windshield and the cover for it to rattle. if you press down on the cover when the sound appears it magically goes away. It took me a couple of months to figure it out, and the dealer fixed it lol

Honda sure likes their run-flats in top-of-the-line models. A friend and I both purchased 2005 Honda Odysseys within a few weeks of each other in 05, I bought the EX and she got the Touring. While her interior was fancier and had more gadgets, I had a spare tire and she had Michelin PAX run-flats that were the structural plastic/foam frame type and hated them-- Honda had to replace all 4 tires within a year and under 10k miles because of defects and other strange problems. The tires couldn't really handle the weight of the Odyssey so they failed easily. She did get new rims and tires under warranty right as the warranty was expiring because Michelin discontinued the PAX tire.

We rode in one for a ride share from the airport. Definitely do not recommend if adults will ever sit in the back. Roofline is low, seats were firm and uncomfortable, and because the floor is high you've got zero thigh support. We were only in the car for an hour and it was as much time you'll ever want to spend in the backseat which is a shame for a 4 door "family" vehicle.

Prologue’s design is conservative and stout, and it will age well. Meanwhile, Blazer EV’s design is extroverted and borderline fussy, with a gift basket full of lines and seams and creases.

When reviewing EVs it would be good to talk about efficiency, weight, heat pump, battery capacity and charging speed. I test drove one of these a few weeks ago but learned that it’s 6000 lbs or over 1500 lbs heavier than a Model Y, as such it is slower and much thirstier while charging slower. I also found the interior materials and suspension design to be inferior to the Tesla. I would love to get rid of my Model Y, but I can’t justify the compromises of this, plus it costs $10k more than a Model Y. 😮

IMO you should only do EV reviews in the brisk cold climates of the winter. The biggest issues with EV's are range, and winter range is usually brutal. Out by me in, close to the Canadian boarder, we see a ton of tesla's between april and november, and usually by december all the tesla's have been parked and clapped out gas powered older cars are the replacement from december to april. Neighbor is one of them, having an 87 suburban he drives in the cold as his tesla will not do two days of commuting with heat on a full charge, and last year he couldn't charge due to some kind of freezing issue at the nearby charging station, causing him to have to rely on uber to get to work. Maybe add to the review sitting for 3 hours to charge, does it come with games, or a sleep mode, or anything while you wait? Do you see the epa suggested range, how does the highway effect it? Anyway.. love from the rust belt..
