@@Aslash304 The honda chevlogue EX FWD is better than a model Y. No crappy leather seats that crack and wrinkle and get hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It has real door handles the model Y doesnt. The charging port door isnt electronic like crap like the model Y and neither is the glovebox like crappy model Y. Also it has a full metal roof and hailstones wont bust through the glass like that guy in canada and hailstones busting through his glass roof in his tesla. Front wheel drive is better for the winter and you cannot even get a front wheel drive tesla and it has more range than a model Y. Also it has a real gear shifter and real turn signal stalks and real AC controls so on. Also the door handles are better for icy conditions so on. overall better design. you made wrong choice getting the trim you did tho glass roof is a no no.

@@Aslash304 My choice would be prologue EX mercury silver metallic color FWD OR LX Trim FWD if they offered it. The cloth interior will last longer than leather on higher trims also full metal roof is a winner no worries about cracks/chips or hailstones busting through or leaks from seals lol. Also the front wheel drive will have less cv axles to replace/repair and more range. If the dealer got one id trade current one for that tbh save money and have better car tbh. base models more rare, but they are better in alot of ways people dont realize actually weigh less so better mpge/mpg also and just less crap to gizmos to break. if you intend to keep the car and not just a lease this is what i would do personally.

I've had a Prologue Elite for 3+ months and 4,000 miles now, and I have to say I agree with everything you said in this video (not something I can usually say about KZbin videos from car folks). I traded in my '22 Hyundai Ioniq 5 (which I had for about 5 months) for the Prologue, and the only thing I regret about the move is the low trade-in value I got for the Ioniq. I like the ground clearance and the fact that this car sits higher than the Ioniq (my last ICE daily driver was a CR-V Hybrid), I like the generous passenger space (I'm a big guy) and I like ride and handling. I do a lot of driving on two-lane highways and the 288hp gives me plenty of confidence when passing. As a 60-something older guy who has driven ICE cars for 40+ years, the Prologue is the perfect EV. Maybe not the best EV, but the best EV for me. Thanks for the video. I've subscribed to your channel and will look for more great content from you. But, you know, no pressure.

I like having physical controls for climate, windshield wipers and such (not to mention gear shift, turn signals). I also like having a small driver display, rather than having to take my eyes off the road and look off center to check my speed. Maybe I’m old, but I just prefer not having everything in one screen, buried in levels of menus. So the Prologue seems right up my alley.

The Google built in makes it easy to recommend Honda Prologue (or Acura ZDX) for the first time EV driver. Google built in shows your arrival SOC and adds charging stops which are optimized to be at the faster stations along your route. I’ve now spent almost 3000 miles road tripping this system in Prologue and ZDX and it’s proven in my experience to be simple and conservative, again what a first time EV owner needs.

Yes, you have to hold the position (memory 1 or 2) you want to set the seat to until the seating position is set. Not just a one button press. 1 or 2 pertains to each key (1 or 2). You also have to adjust the position you want the entry/exit distance you want to the seat to move back to/from as a part of the memory seat. That's going to be used with the bottom button (the icon with door open w/ the little arrow) in the memory seat area on the door. That will enable the entry/exit memory seat moving when you start/shut off the car

I've had my Prologue touring AWD for a couple of weeks. It's my first EV. I really like it. It's plenty fast, quiet and handles just fine. Not a fan of the GM sounds and the horn honking instead of beeping to let you know things like getting out with the car on. Also not a fan of the piano black (why do they still put this in cars!?) I installed a chargepoint level 2 charger hardwired into my panel. I am not sure I would own a non Tesla as my only vehicle due to the wonky charging infrastructure especially here in the PNW. Lots on the west side but not so much east of the mountains. We have my wife's cr-v hybrid for trips out of town. I like that it's more or less like a traditional car. Not super great looking but not ugly or weird looking. Lots of controls that are NOT only in the touchscreen which is the main reason I would not buy a tesla. For now it's just day to day driving around town which is perfect for my use case. Maybe once superchargers are available I will take it further out of town.

It has the same hardware as a regular gas car, an accelerator and a brake, and one pedal driving, which has two levels, is a setting you can choose. You still use the brake if you turn it off, so there are options for you to customize, to make the experience the best for your liking.

I'll disagree - the Tesla Model Y is not the best car and I can argue that all day long. Part of the thing Honda NAILED is the styling - my wife hated every other EV because, like Tesla, they look like a Space Ship. "I don't want to drive a space ship. I want a smart SUV that happens to be electric."
@Aslash304
@Aslash304 3 ай бұрын
The Prologue looks way better. The Model Y has sentry mode, lane centering, supercharger access, dog mode, bioweapon defense mode, phone as key, more horsepower, and more range. Everyone pays the price that’s advertised for the Tesla, the seats are more comfortable, there are driver profiles (steering wheel and seats) that automatically adjust when you open the door, it charges at 250kW, and it’s cheaper. The Prologue is better looking, for sure. But, as an owner of both, it’s hard to argue that the Prologue is better.

No, you’ll like it. I came from a Model Y, and I love it. There are a couple things it’s not quite as good at, and a couple missing features, but it makes up for it by being cool. It’s big. Like really big. That’s the major difference between it and the Model Y. Also, It can use the supercharger, too. Just not all of them. Video here: ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJS3Y5ebrahpn5Isi=1O1O175T2BafyERa ) And as far as charging, 10-80% is about 37 minutes, instead of 27 from a Model Y. That’s a good deal for the lease.

From 10%-20%, it’s $15-$35 depending on where you are in the US and what network you’re using. For example, EVGo credits are available for the Prologue, making those sessions free. Pulled into Honda to check out the CR-V hybrid interior and dang near broke my neck looking at the Prologue parked next to us. I quipped out loud that it "looks like a Range Rover". Slightly. Here is why my family will get one: - EV tax credit makes it a nice price - This is literally the only way to get my wife into an EV. This will be her vehicle and she usually doesn't like them, but having the Honda name helps out a lot. - Lending to that previous like, it has physical buttons. We both appreciate that. The screens are of normal proportion and shape, not some massive, ordering-a-McGriddle-size-and-orientation, tablet. The tablet thing is AWFUL. What I don't like as much: - It's a GM. To be fair, GM has been doing EVs for some time and that could be a pro. If this was Honda doing it themselves, guaranteed there would be more quirks. It makes sense for a variety of reasons that Honda went this route. If it's a flaming turd they can just point the finger at GM. I don't have any indicators that it is so far.

Good review of the good and bad. It seems car makers seem to be caught up in the technology/toy department. It seems impossible to just jump in and drive. First you have set up all your options, figure out how the dam screen menus work or don't work. Interior options are limited to black and grey, and there are so many buttons on the steering wheel that you have to look down to see which one to push. Worst of all is the talking navigation, which sometimes works great, other times not so great.

One little thing to add. I’m not sure if you mentioned that it has normal door handles. Something I try not to care about but I do. For future content you could compare it more to the Blazer EV. I like the way the Elite trim of the Prologue is packaged, GM is doing some odd things with the Blazer, at least with the 2024. If you watch reviews of this car GM gets a lot of hate and Honda a lot of anger for working with them. But my worry is with Honda, not GM. GM seems all in to me, the only reason I’d choose the Blazer over the Honda is I’m not sure if Honda is committed. I think one exception to your Japan not being into EVs is Nissan. The Ariya is a good car, that started out too expensive and with some mediocre specs. You can tell Nissan put some love into it. I’m a Toyota fan and I agree that Toyota’s EVs were designed to not sell and prove the point that EVs are not ready from prime time. Toyota couldn’t help but make the BZ4X a car that was reliable to get from point a to b short distances but you can tell they didn’t want to make it. Thanks for the review.

@@eugeniof8470 yes, someone in the top 5th percentile of drivers, like 50,000 miles per year, that is never near an electrical outlet when parked, could potentially save with a hybrid vs EV. Remember 80% of driving at minimum is in town. Finally, for those that travel that much, both EA and Tesla offer a subscription that drops the price 20%. These subscriptions pay for themselves after about 5 charges. And with $0.40 per kWh, you’re starting to look at $2.50 per gallon or less, or 60MPG to compete with EV fuel costs. But it will be $70k for the first year. Rivian will only make the top trim, biggest battery, longest range version of this vehicle for at least 6-8 months. That’s how it works. The first Lucid Air models were top spec and cost $140,000. The First Cybertrucks were top spec and cost $120,000. The first Rivian R1T units were top spec and were selling for $100 - $120k in the aftermarket, $90,000 on the sticker. The Bronco, The Grand Wagoneer, I could go on forever. @@Aslash304 I agree that is very possible and is how it normally works. Top trim of the Honda is just under $60k. I like the Honda, but I think their end of year sale price is closer to what its MSRP should be. The lack of the expensive maintenance, overall mechanical reliability, and frankly just basic day to day lack of hassle in the experience of driving an EV completely erases any inconvenience of needing to spend 15-20 minutes longer fueling, even if it is more often on that occasional road trip. I'm sure why anybody would pay to charge at 3-5x the price 10 miles from home, that's just plain dumb. Does it happen? Yeah, only because nobody bothers to learn about anything anymore. Quieter, more torque, more efficient, less maintenance, more safety, less noise vibration and harshness, unbelievably long warranty on the most expensive part, the list goes on forever. Tesla is the best, but ICE is cannot compete with any EV offering. And when a gas car costs just as much as an EV now, it’s a really really big ask to get anyone who does math or research buy an ICE vehicle. Want me to prove I’m not a fanboy? Watch my video on the robocab. The comments section of that video has some real Tesla fanboys. Pop quiz: at 11 minutes I mention the nominal voltage of the Prologue battery pack. What is it?

What a stupid way to get around. Imagine everyone trying to get electric charges What then? Have you ever been in a stop freeway for hours everyone exiting to get electricity Daddddd

@@amyoneelse At Zero mph the only thing that runs on an EV is the HVAC. It uses 2% battery per hour in extreme temperatures. That’s 50 hours before it runs out of charge at 100%, 25 hours at 50%. How long do gas cars last at idle before they clunk out? Please answer, by the way, I have literally hundreds more verifiable facts to assist you with uncoiling your oil addiction.

I was about to buy this car feels great if I didn't have somewhere to go. Can you imagine being hostage to this impossibly slow charger and under 300 miles when you live in Los Angeles. Road trips would suck.
@Aslash304

@@amyoneelse in Los Angeles there are so many chargers you could choke on one. Most robust charging infrastructure in the western hemisphere. Not a great example. Only an endurance athlete or someone fasting, or perhaps someone who is intolerable to road trip with can stand more than 3.5 hours in a car without stopping. The human bladder wins over EV range every time. Keep it coming, these are elementary.

I can only hope he has AAA after he discovers his fake "Honda" can't be charged on road trips in the US. Should you disagree, drive on any major interstates between large cities and see how many non-Tesla's you see ... essentially zero. It's been estimated that of the public CCS chargers in the US, approx. 95 to 98% are either broken, removed, or vandalized. What could be more useless than a car you can't reliably charge on a road trip. I just saw a dead Rivian today on I-45 that couldn't find a working charging station. Gosh, what a surprise ... I wonder what KZbin video convinced him to buy something you can't drive very far from home. Got my Cyber truck yesterday and drove to NOLA easily from Houston .... try that in ANY other EV. My buddy drives regularly from Texas to Cali and back and has NEVER had a charging issue. A couple of weeks ago, I ran into a lady with an brand-new paper-plated VW ID4 at a Bucky's that had spent three hours driving around at 15mph, calling everywhere for help and was out of charge. Eventually, she called a tow truck as I advised since the car was blocking an exit. I asked her she didn't buy a Tesla ... she said a "genius VW owner" on KZbin told her this was the best EV ever! I just looked at her, unplugged from the Supercharger and left her sitting by her broken-down VW BEV. On any long road trip, you can substitute the word Honda for that VW ... that is what awaits you ... don't get conned.

@@bentl1m392 Buys Cybertruck, becomes instant expert on CCS charging. The average uptime based on the most recent government study is 72.5%, which is slightly higher than the 3% you claim. I’ll leave the cute little link here for you, www.nrel.gov/docs/fy24osti/89896.pdf When you saw the Rivian at the side of the road, did you stop and ask them why they were pulled over? I have traveled over 6,000 miles in my Prologue, almost all of it being on road trips, and I have yet to get to a charging station, and have to leave because I couldn’t charge. Unless that ID4 driver was in central Montana, which she wasn’t, because she was at Buc-ee’s, she was very close to a charger. The Worst EV charging deserts in the US are less than 15 miles between J-1772 plugs. There’s a successful road trip in this video, by the way, in my useless, unable to road trip “Honda.” Finally, and this one will spin you around in your chair, the Honda Prologue, because it is a GM, as you sarcastically implied, CAN CHARGE on the Supercharger network. Here’s a video to prove it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJS3Y5ebrahpn5I help me decide, after you watch it, who is trying to con others.
