80 year old woman here who followed your directions and took my stove apart, replaced the mouse used insulation and put it back together. I did it in short bursts of activity over several days. Found my stove had a few more screws in hard to reach places but succeeded now and ready to final clean the outside. Thanks for your video. I kept using “all you need is a screwdriver” as my mantra. But in fact muy screws needed a nut driver.

This looks like a hard process. Respect to you. I've had this happen to two stoves. I might attempt this myself but It might be worth it just get a entirely new stove second hand. Nice tutorial.

Amie sounds like good people to me! We just went through the same thing. I’m married to an aerospace engineer and he tried to get me to agree to that approach. The whole reason we had the problem is he installed my gas stove and procrastinated- never put the wall plates on. I have a new stove being delivered this afternoon, lol!

Is that house insulation? Ovens need special high temp insulation.

As long as you remove the paper this will work just fine. I know of 2 appliance tecks that have been doing this for 20 years.

No professional needed all you need is a screw driver and some time. Or any local handyman. See the comment below a 80 year old lady fixed hers by herself.
