Did you notice know this trap that is says something like "the sunshine" on the inside of the lid? I didn't see you mention it but it could be what the maker called it. Maybe look up a patent for a trap under that name

Agree, Fluffy us very cute. The deer mice are too, but as you say, they're such a vector for disease and make a horrible mess in the house. Great video Sean showing the "original" and the homemade one.

You could make a bucket attachment using that type of door system, so instead of jail, they fall in the bucket.

I've always wondered if this design could be modified, to have many small chambers along the path as with these two chambers, all with one-way doors or teeter-totters, in heavy infestations where one night might see dozens captured, if the trap were up to it. As the chambers filled up, the furthest one finally not able to contain any more mice, then that filling effect all the way back to the start. A series of small chambers as opposed to one big one would cut down on panic fighting and therefore lower the cruelty of the trap. Plus, each chamber having its own release door to the outside could facilitate sorting native versus invasive species, if you care to do that sort of thing (such as for a YT video). How 'bout it, Shawn? Feel up to the challenge?
