Graphics are really nice.. But would like to drop one point... In comparison of conductivity vs conc. Plot and molar conductivity vs conc. Plot.... Can be explained as... Conductivity or specific conductivity is dependent on conductivity of fixed no. Of ions per unit volume... So if you will increase the concentration.. the no. Of particles per unit volume will increase and hence ... The conductivity will increase... While molar conductivity tells us about the conductivity of 1 mol ions... Upon dilution... The molar conductivity of ions increases as ... Amount of interaction among ions decreases with dilution ... And resistance to flow decreases...

@All 'Bout Chemistry, I think entropy should be increased as micellization releases more water molecules which increases the entropy of the system. Moreover, micell formation is a spontaneous phenomenon which is also an indication of positive entropy change.

Thank you very much for the video. Why is the CMC is different when we calculate it from molar conductivity graph and specific conductivity graph? This information is really important for my homework I am looking forward to having an answer. Thanks again.

Let me clear that if we considered monomer of surfactant as a solute then after micelle formation , solute entropy decreases but at the same time water molecules become unbound so solvent entropy increases.... But what about the overall entropy ?? It is increases due to mostly by solvent entropy

Thank you sir, few question related to surfactants used to separate oil-water emulsions: 1. After the CMC is achieved, how much more surfactant needs to be added for oil to separate from water? 2. After oil is recovered, it will contain our surfactant used, can we separate the oil and surfactant if we want to re-use the oil? Anyone can please help if they know please?
