Darrel Be I knew he was gonna be badass ever since HARDBALL but nobody speaks about that movie regardless if he didn’t have a huge role he was just a kid who wanted to play ball and ended up being in a gang and ran into G Baby and his bro in a gun blast scene. Next thing you know G Baby gets a bullet to the chest. But the fact I liked Michael B. Jordan in that movie and followed him ever since up to now in Black Panther amazes me how fat he has come

People, there is a BIG difference between dating outside of your "race" because of self-hate and dating outside of your "race" because you grew up in a multicultural enviornment where the racial construct isn't a big factor... This man does not strike me as someone who hates himself or black women... hating on him for not dating or married to a black woman is ridiculous.
@serious7179
@serious7179 6 жыл бұрын
serious Absolutely agree... as a black woman, I know what you're talking about, and I also grew up in a multicultural society where I had the opportunity to date people from different racial groups and countries, so my preference has never been a black or white man... it's just because of my upbringing, I can appreciate love and beauty in all ethnic groups (but the dude has to have swag, though, and it seems like black and italian men got the corner market on that lol:-). I've ended up married to a wonderful black man, but I never pigeon-holed myself to black men, and I'm happy to see that some black women are waking up and seeing that black men aren't the only men on the face of the planet lol.. if we're open to love regardless of color, we'll find love.

KMoney As long as it's a preference and you're not hating on black women, I don't see anything wrong. I have a preference for good-looking men, mainly italian or white-hispanic, but the love of my life and husband happens to be black, and I'm a happy camper :-)

The truth is Black women prefer Black men, but Black men do NOT prefer Black women. Black women should not take these things personally. If we want to empower and better Black people we should teach Black pride and not teach colorism and preference of non-African features over our own. If we do this, then in time things will change with in our community. There is nothing wrong with him dating a non-Black person. I think that some individuals felt a way, because they saw it as another example of preference of others over our own or as some individuals say: "The Interracial Dating Agenda." Yes, that's a real term that is being used. However, in Hollywood there aren't that many Black women compared to other groups in the demographic. And then you consider the amount of dark skinned women who are NOT in Hollywood. Men in Hollywood mostly see non-Black and light skinned women most of their day. Black women should not take it personal. I can't wait to see the movie. Movies with a majority cast excite me.

Be specific. This is an issue that affects the African American community. Nigerian men prefer Nigerian women. Somali men prefer Somali women. African American men have to step up.
@roguee529
@roguee529 7 жыл бұрын
I think that is true. I'm Jamaican and even though there is a lot of preference for non-African features, there isn't that much discrimination for African features. In America it feels like the idea is less African is great and African is bad. Where as in other Black populations it's not that African is bad, it's just that their is a high acceptance or preference for less African. I think that it is a cultural difference. You can't just let the bigger population influence you that much.

I understood his character. And believe me this impact on the African-American just does not happen to the male but also the female. The difference is Killmonger had a very extreme response but it does not mean that many African-Americans can identify with the pain and emotional turmoil that accompanies being a citizen of this country and its history.

Alondra Nevaeh, having an esthetic preference doesn't make one a racist. Someone discriminating against or feeling superior to another because of his or her race makes that someone a racist. Michael B. is dating a white woman, and some may disapprove, but it's morally questionable to hold someone accountable for something he or she personally had nothing to do with. At what point do we all recognize individuals as individuals? I think there will always be racism as long as we think of one another in terms of race.

Ebro is gonna have to have that perspective because it validates himself Hes not really looking at it from the perspective of black culture but mixed culture/liberal jewish culture- He was raised by a jewish mom as he says. What Ebro is Missing out is in the black culture it is bred to have self hate and ppl date outside their race cuz many dont love themselves or feel dating/marrying will improve their status or childs status erasing what they didnt love about themselves. If thats the case that kid is moving further and further away from their black identity. Its not a coincidence that when black ppl get poppin that they tend to date outside their race.

I don't know about Michael b's life so I'm not speaking of him directly, but black men seem to be the only ones as a collective that don't get the problem with interracial dating in the system of white supremacy. The entire movie kilmonger is hell bent of ending white supremacy but they don't get how interracial dating at least with white people is a problem?? Loving the people you're trying to overthrow is the dumbest thing you can do. No one is racist for wanting to stay in their race black, white or whatever. How are we going to have a real wakanda if half of us are in interracial relationships? Stop being dishonest if you want to date Interracially go out and do it but don't expect your pro black card when you do it, and don't expect black people to be behind you.

This is small progress but progress nonetheless. I’ll be happy when we have an all black movie and the focus isn’t that they’re black or in the hood or anything else that’s negatively stereotypically associated with black people

People gonna stop acting like we didn't have Blade and Spawn holding it down for black super movies before all of this.... *Shout out to Wesley Snipes and Micheal Jai White.* The love for the movie and what my people are bringing to it is great but this is a comic book movie first and *FOr The Culture* and etc second

peace; No movie black movie will ever change the mental of them old races in Hollywood or anywhere else for that matter. Just make your movies and get your check and the best thing for US to do is basically get our own hollywood and our own movie theater lines and things of that nature...Enough with trying to please some old white guy or some old jewish guys...We been making money to long to still be wanting to satisfy "Others!"

DJ Devinstation Nope, just intelligent enough to realise colour really shouldn't matter when it comes to dating. Anyway I've noticed people who use the term 'interracial dating' tend to be too ugly to attract other races so they see it in a negative light, which is fair enough. I'm guessing you fall into that category? Just asking
@devzeppalin

Timi_LFC One person from one race is dating another from a different race = interracial dating. Simple. Nothing negative about that.

Timi_LFC One person from one race is dating another from a different race = interracial dating. Simple. Nothing negative about that. Also, whether color matters to you or not, interracial dating has many major & specific differences that people who are just "dating" never deal with. Even a bigoted individual like yourself can realize why it's not just dating because of that.
