@@stevenstevenson3705 With large sums of money you can do that, but what he did was ask the teller if that was ok to do, they might of assumed something because they saw the amount in the bank account... Once I took out 8k to give my sister a loan in cash, they didn't have enough $100 bills so it was a lot of $20s and I asked if that could of been counted not at the teller, it took like 20 minutes but it was done.

@@stevenstevenson3705 I worked at B of A for 2 years. Customer slide there ATM card, enter the Pin and the account info comes up. Technically we didn't have to ask for ID, since it was 12K, the Customer already handed his ID over with the note. What about that is alarming to a teller, I don't know. I had multiple notes slide to me as a teller for large amounts of cash, never called the police!

When the director explained what he did - he wrote the amount, gave his own card, put in his pin, gave his ID - but the teller still decided to call the cops on him. The teller should definitely be fired for profiling. What else could a person provide so he/she would not be suspected? Who wouldn’t be irritated being arrested when you did everything you could to identify yourself? If I were him I’d definitely sue the teller and the manager of that branch and then move all my money somewhere else.

I think ppl do understand that, I certainly do, from the panic attack side and being wrongfully held side, but it's not like the officers did anything wrong. If you are told someone is robbing the bank you don't just roll up and ask people how they're day is going. You show up, make the scene safe and go from there. He was treated with dignity and respect and if it had actually been someone robbing the bank he would appreciate the calm quick nature of the officers to keep him and his group safe. The real issue lies with the person who made the call. That being said, come on, you're paying such large amounts of cash that you can't speak and have to slip a note to a teller?? That makes absolutely 0 sense. As someone who dealt with large sums of cash at one point in my life, HAD ANYONE, white, black, Hispanic, From Mars, I don't care, slipped me a note asking for cash I would have been concerned and the fact the sees NOTHING WRONG with slipping a note to a bank teller that's asking for a large sum of cash absolutely blows my mind.

@@griffisjm How is slipping a note to a teller a concern when he is putting in his pin and drawing money from his own bank account? That’s completely ridiculous. I’m sure he never said I’m trying to rob the bank, give me all the funds? Ppl watch too many movies and let their imaginations take them away too far instead of dealing with what’s being proposed in front of them. It’s common sense. The guy entered his bank info. What else was he supposed to do? I agree the problem is with the teller. And though the cops were very respectful of him, they are still cops that he doesn’t know who have guns. And with everything that has happened to many innocent black men making so called suspicious movements and getting killed for it, he’s is rightfully anxious. I work alongside cops everyday, I see the way they handle ppl under arrest. It can be very intimidating. And he’s just one person. I saw at least 4 cops in that clip. It takes just one of them being a jackass claiming he sees something that is black and looks like a gun, for them all to react too quickly and hurt someone. And this poor guy is just trying to hold it together after being surrounded by authorities. That’s what I see.

And they just sprayed him like it was nothing. You can remain calm, do nothing and still get hurt. And all these ppl have one thing in common, the color of their skin, because apparently being black in America is seen as a threat. Even little black children are a threat. Sad 😞 But on the flip side, I see plenty videos of white ppl stealing cop cars, beating cops and even drawing guns on them, but they definitely lived to see another day, while unarmed black ppl get hurt in situations like these where they have done nothing wrong. It really pains me to see him in this video because I see him trying to hold it together, but he looks scared as hell. So being calm may help, but it doesn’t always work if the others around you have biases and perceive you as a threat anyway. 🤷🏽‍♀️

@@griffisjm It makes sense for him to slip a note, because you don’t just say loudly to the person working the counter “Hi, I’d like to withdraw $12,000”. Anybody with the wrong intentions could try hurt him or worse. Even if nobody did, you don’t want everybody staring at you for taking out that much cash. You never want to draw attention to yourself when withdrawing that amount of money, so it’s the bank teller’s fault. Also, he’s withdrawing out of his own account, and he had his ID. The bank teller just thought that he was stealing because of a note he slipped telling them to not make a scene out of it? Doesn’t make sense to me.

As a former teller, it's common for people taking large deposits to write the requests down. Some will write it down just to withdraw $40. Some have their whole transaction request written down. It's not uncommon. She totally overreacted and could've caused him to lose his life. All the officers know upon arrival is that there is a robbery attempt in place. They could've assumed a gun was present and acted accordingly.

@@garyny4073 there’s no excuse, the bank teller was scared of a black man wearing warm clothes during the winter and a face mask following a World pandemic and even received all the proper information including his bank card and identification card. The teller must have some serious anxiety or something to call the cops and say someone’s trying to what? Calmly rob them with their proper paperwork? If she’s afraid of black people she probably shouldn’t work in Atlanta or any demographic area with many black people, she must first overcome her fear based on sight alone, that’s a personal problem and no one is at fault but the teller, and I agree with you, the officers did their jobs properly given the information from their call if you ask me.

If she had any real concerns or questions- she should have went to her manager who then should have brought him into the office for clarification on any concern they had. It blows my mind this was escalated to calling the police. If anything- they should have gotten their local security team involved for further advice. Lots of ignored procedures it seems.
