@griffisjm2 жыл бұрын
I think ppl do understand that, I certainly do, from the panic attack side and being wrongfully held side, but it's not like the officers did anything wrong. If you are told someone is robbing the bank you don't just roll up and ask people how they're day is going. You show up, make the scene safe and go from there. He was treated with dignity and respect and if it had actually been someone robbing the bank he would appreciate the calm quick nature of the officers to keep him and his group safe. The real issue lies with the person who made the call. That being said, come on, you're paying such large amounts of cash that you can't speak and have to slip a note to a teller?? That makes absolutely 0 sense. As someone who dealt with large sums of cash at one point in my life, HAD ANYONE, white, black, Hispanic, From Mars, I don't care, slipped me a note asking for cash I would have been concerned and the fact the sees NOTHING WRONG with slipping a note to a bank teller that's asking for a large sum of cash absolutely blows my mind.
@shauna38652 жыл бұрын
@@griffisjm How is slipping a note to a teller a concern when he is putting in his pin and drawing money from his own bank account? That’s completely ridiculous. I’m sure he never said I’m trying to rob the bank, give me all the funds? Ppl watch too many movies and let their imaginations take them away too far instead of dealing with what’s being proposed in front of them. It’s common sense. The guy entered his bank info. What else was he supposed to do? I agree the problem is with the teller. And though the cops were very respectful of him, they are still cops that he doesn’t know who have guns. And with everything that has happened to many innocent black men making so called suspicious movements and getting killed for it, he’s is rightfully anxious. I work alongside cops everyday, I see the way they handle ppl under arrest. It can be very intimidating. And he’s just one person. I saw at least 4 cops in that clip. It takes just one of them being a jackass claiming he sees something that is black and looks like a gun, for them all to react too quickly and hurt someone. And this poor guy is just trying to hold it together after being surrounded by authorities. That’s what I see.

@@gilbertoarellano8711 Yea, but did you see the video with the guy from the military who was sprayed in the face with mace. The guy was calm. He was only asking what he did wrong. And they just sprayed him like it was nothing. You can remain calm, do nothing and still get hurt. And all these ppl have one thing in common, the color of their skin, because apparently being black in America is seen as a threat. Even little black children are a threat. Sad 😞 But on the flip side, I see plenty videos of white ppl stealing cop cars, beating cops and even drawing guns on them, but they definitely lived to see another day, while unarmed black ppl get hurt in situations like these where they have done nothing wrong. It really pains me to see him in this video because I see him trying to hold it together, but he looks scared as hell. So being calm may help, but it doesn’t always work if the others around you have biases and perceive you as a threat anyway. 🤷🏽♀️
@lukesloan80662 жыл бұрын
@@griffisjm It makes sense for him to slip a note, because you don’t just say loudly to the person working the counter “Hi, I’d like to withdraw $12,000”. Anybody with the wrong intentions could try hurt him or worse. Even if nobody did, you don’t want everybody staring at you for taking out that much cash. You never want to draw attention to yourself when withdrawing that amount of money, so it’s the bank teller’s fault. Also, he’s withdrawing out of his own account, and he had his ID. The bank teller just thought that he was stealing because of a note he slipped telling them to not make a scene out of it? Doesn’t make sense to me.

I disagree the cuffs are used to keep the police in a dominant position that's why they feel soo comfortable talking to him the way the do with the cuffs on . When there off ,although he is in the same emotional state which wasn't erratic there tell him to calm down .. they don't like equal footing I think it makes them uncomfortable
