Explanation of chassis grounding versus signal grounding can be found in some video interviews of Shunyata Research. Technology for these can either be passive grounding or active grounding. Very few companies offer active grounding AFAIK, where the reference ground is frequently recalculated. Unclear if Shunyata uses passive or active.

Can't you just lift the ground off an unselected circuit like Ayre?

I once had a Sansui 7070 receiver from the 70's that came with shorting plugs for any unused inputs. That's all that was needed and probably didn't cost more than 50 cents each at the time. This however is nothing more than snake oil with lots of unsubstantiated claims with no measurements to back up any of the claims :(

Many things cannot be measured. Try measuring vector potential. The fundamental qualities in most branches of physics beyond classical mechanics cannot be measured. See Freeman Dyson - Why Maxwell's Theory is so Hard to Understand for an explanation. Time domain coherence through the audio chain is arguably the most important quality in stereo gear yet it's impossible to measure. You can hear it though in the reproduction of a cello, for example. A single note from an acoustic instrument like that is accompanied by a slew of harmonics of different frequency. Different frequencies travel through interconnect and electronics at different rates. What comes out in the end will sound unnatural if time-domain coherence is not the top priority in the design. Believe what you want but you're mostly harming yourself by believing such nonsense.

This guy is full of it. Any audio device with multiple inputs will have complete protection from any noise on floating, unused inputs. This is a scam wrapped in BS.

@@rentabomb How about listening to the positive effect on the sound quality the Sortz have before asking for measurements? The effect of the Sortz is very quickly noticeable, why are you looking for measurements? I'm sure an Ansuz dealer close to you would love to have you take a listen to them.

At $1K+ a piece, they’re way overpriced, for what little improvement they render.
