This is not the Welsh national anthem. "Land of My Fathers" is the national anthem. This sonng might be a rugby anthem, if anything.

I am from the midwest in the U.S. My biological Grandpa Davies and my Grandpa Williams both came over to America with their families from Wales. They spoke Welsh and sang in the Welshmen's choir in a small town in NE Iowa. They both spoke Welsh and I wish they had lived longer so I could have known the culture and music of Wales better. There is nothing more beautiful than listening to a Welshmen's Choir or hymn. No one can sing like the Welsh.

Pray for Wales, I visited Cardiff last week (South Wales) and found almost no person to speak the language and what is worse: a beautiful church called "Corner Stone" is being used for business-events and not anymore for worship. Pray for the university of Cardiff, where people from allover the world are in! .... REVIVAL, spiritual awakening towards Christ, may start there. Even if there are only a few, God can move again like 1904/1905 or mightier. Send your HOLY SPIRIT, LORD, and move again in a mighty way, in Jesus Name, Amen! (from Switzerland)

Cwm Rhondda isn’t about Wales either. It’s a hymn giving glory to God. For a song that’s actually about Wales, look to “Yma O Hyd” since that’s more akin to a bardic tale of the history of Cymru.

In reply to Apemanwithcalculator .So what if he sings some 'wrong' words, at least you can hear them all, his diction is perfect - unlike a lot of so-called 'stars' these days. And what an amazing voice!

Actually going to see them in Sunday in Southampton. I have been looking forward to this all summer as I have been undergoing chemotherapy and last week I finished. So, as a reward I treated myself and a few friends to seeing these two fabulous singers. Their album sounds awesome, and can't wait to hear some Les Mis. Certainly going to make me smile. Just a bit excited!! X

I know that his fans all favor Michael singing Love Changes Everything. But I have to say that hearing him sing Bread of Heaven just gives me chills and goosebumps. And I still think the last note of Bread of Heaven is higher than the last note of LCE. Am I right? Wales Forever!🥰🥰

My father's a fine Welshman, with the slightly darker skin tone of the original Celt, my mother's from Yorkshire very Anglo Saxon in appearance. A natural blonde, blue eyes, fair skin, they made a very attractive couple.

Do people actually understand the words? Pilgrim through this barren land = a walk with Christ is being a pilgrim for Christians are no longer of this world; Bread of Heaven = Christ; Death of death and Hell's Destruction = Christ; Strong Deliverer = Christ etc etc. This hymn was written during a time of Revival in Wales and is phenominal, along with Jesus Jesus all sufficient; In Eden sad - Indeed that day etc!
