I have to say, I was not expecting to be thrown by Michael Bisping at this particular point in time 😂🥋This clip is taken from my time helping him with his amazing seminar at the For the Love of MMA event held in Manchester recently!
The renowned MMA fighter and UFC legend covered all sorts of great coaching concepts to a hugely appreciative crowd during his time on the mats. Here, he goes over one of his favourite ways to defend the single leg takedown 🔥🔥😍😍
I had a truly great time with Mike and I know that everyone who attended loved having the opportunity to train with him on the day! Make sure you get following him and the For The Love Of MMA event series across all social media today!! I can't wait for the next one 🤯😍

Once you listen to the details of every movement, you realize how elite these guys are. Look at guys like Charles O. or the other champs, they do this in their sleep, without even thinking about it.

And the little movements Charles is doing whilst being taken to the floor, so he ends up in the best position and possibly submitting his opponent is unreal when they slow things down and u see the little movements of his leg say to be in a certain place and his hand going somewhere else it's all in a fraction of a second under pressure and whilst being hit and taken to the floor! Unbelievable

What a time to be alive. Free training snippets from living legends like Bisping and GSP. Also crazy how when these two guys fought back in the day Bisping had one functioning eye and GSP was suffering from colitis yet they were still two of the best martial artists in the world. What a beautiful art and sport!

We call that in the wrestling world R and R rest and relaxation! U can sit with that wrist control and whizzer for ever till they get frustrated and use all their energy trying to finish and get u off balance then when they go to switch to two u get that leg free keep the wrist control and set up a nice counter re shot attack!

This only works if you’re bigger then the guy taking you down. Otherwise if your front leg gets isolated off the ground like that you’re almost always going to the ground afterwards. A better defense to this takedown is letting it happen then explode on the scramble once it hits the ground. Most guys are so focused on just getting you down that they forget to maintain position control once it gets there.

He needs to talk more about his leg placement. When he went into the wizzer, he should have said WHY he moved his arm and LEG especially. Going around the quad is a BIG deal. And as always “ELBOW, BUTT, BLADE” Every engagement should be pretending you have a knife. When you disengage you should ALWAYS be throwing an elbow or creating distance.
