Great tip, thanks for delving into this. Super useful not only for creating space in a sound source, any sound source, but also for shifting the tonality within the sound source, for an example if a pad happens to have a texture slightly leaning on the left, you can bring out something on the right to balance it out, or with a hi hat on a stereo mix of a kit, the kit can be re-balanced with the hi hat shunted to the right more, or whatever is desired.

The left and right have so much more separation. This is a great tip. Thanks Joe.

The Focusrite channel is a hidden gem. Love it on many of my mixes. Cheers!

Michael Brauer mixed a record I produced back in 2015, and I can confirm he indeed used a pair of LA-3As on the piano. But he was mixing on his SSL9k still, so that was the EQ. I think it's more about the character of the LA-3As and them running as dual mono that gets that sound. The EQ is to taste and there are a lot of EQ choices that will work.

Great Video, is great to process in dual mode. For me, the teletronik LA-2 works better (the 3 gives a bit of a 3k boost) also in dual mono. Nad for the EQ always clean the pianos in the 300/600 hz area helps for round the Lows.
