@garywatsonjr.2060 no brother Gary I'm not. I'm a big fan of Commissioned and Witness and everything that Bishop Brooks produced! I'm originally from Baltimore. I saw Commissioned in person at the Youth and Young Adult Conference at my former church in the DMV.

Great interview! I went to Romulus High with Michael. A fellow classmate told me about his transition last night. My condolences to his family. I regret not reconnecting over the years. He was real.

Thank you for this video. I have LOVED Bishop Brooks music since high school when I first bought the Go Tell Somebody album in 1989! Then after high school I bought a Witness album in 1994, not knowing he was writing/playing/producing for them. Now in 2024, just found out he died 2 weeks ago. This video was the first time I ever heard his voice, so again thanks for this video!😢

@@AndrewMcKain yes he is! Commissioned came to Durham NC for a concert and I was playing for a choir; we opened and I had the opportunity to just watch everything on the side closest to Brooks! He, Mike Williams, and Fred on bass we’re soooo tight smh lol. Most importantly I could tell these guys are really saved and love Jesus. I also enjoy you and your family as well and I will keep watching

A great interview!! I loved the backstory of the early days in the 1980s. During this time, I was on the West Coast in SF & LA where the Hawkins were having their annual workshops. John P. Kee used to attend every year also. Glad that similar workshops were happening on the East Coast.

Just FYI: "Winans Pt. 2" actually did record. The first time was on the album that BeBe & CeCe did via PTL Records. "Turn" features Pt. 2. They were also on Daniel Winans' first album. I can't remember the name of that album, but it came out in the late '80s.

Bro is clearly not a Commissioned fan, mentioning Marvin Sapp when he joined the group AFTER Brooks left… Seemed kind petty to mention ALL the other members other than Fred… 🧐

Naw I’m a huge Commissioned fan, mentioning Marvin Sapp was an error in the moment. And I would never slight Fred, I’m probably the biggest Fred Hammond fan there is lol
