Interesting talk. Didn't really talk about Anarchism or Anarchy (capital A) in science other than a reference to anti-authoritarian teenagers and examples of risk-taking scientists. That's disappointing because progress in science is all about challenging the established order of existing knowledge and its defenders (the scientific bureaucracy, if you like) using the Anarchist principles of self-organisation, autonomy, freely association and non-hierarchical relations between co-workers (often in different institutions or countries). The main principle of Anarchism - that all hierarchy that cannot justify itself must go - is more or less exactly how scientific progress works. Science is Anarchism. BTW, I have come to this conclusion after decades of working in science but only recently become interested in writings about Anarchism. Coincidentally, in my formative years I went to a church that, without ever using the terminology, practiced anarchist principles.
